From the outside, a sharp transition from the old school of design to the new one, led by Steve Mattin, is immediately visible. He managed to turn the familiar and discreet VAZ into a stylish and extravagant car that makes people turn around on the street.
Specifications
Unlike many foreign ones, I did not differentiate between the basic and top-end configurations of the Lada Vesta. The complete equipment of the Lada Vesta in technical terms is no different from the model in the Classic assembly - but their prices are quite comparable.
The engine is a standard VAZ 1.6 liter engine. It has relatively low consumption and a rated power of 106 horsepower. The gearbox (unlike the Classic and Comfort is not a manual transmission; this model has a robotic automatic transmission) is also standard, five-speed, but it belongs to the French concern Renault. A fairly strong suspension and high ground clearance create pleasant driving conditions not only within the city, but also in rural areas. In general, the technical equipment of the new Lada Vesta makes an extremely favorable impression.

Naturally, the full face of the model deserves special attention. The massive black radiator grille with a pair of horizontal bars, in the middle of which sparkles the company’s nameplate, immediately catches your eye. And immediately below it, as if continuing the composition, is the central part of the front bumper, made in a similar style and playing the role of an air intake. Interestingly, this black section narrows in the middle and widens on the sides, creating the silhouette of the letter "X". It was not for nothing that it was said that Lada Vesta adopted the basic ideas of the LADA X Ray concept.
The photo shows that this outline in the form of the letter “X” is limited on the sides by curved silver elements. In the original seats there are “beads” of fog lights, and along the bottom of the bumper there is a slightly protruding arc, which gives the feeling that the car is literally “biting into” the asphalt.
Dimensions of the Lada Vesta interior and comparison with competitors
As a basis for comparison, let's take the interior of the closest 4 competitors of our Vesta. The distance from the front seat (when the driver is sitting in it) to the ceiling is 1020 mm. If we take the competitors, then only Logan wins, it has 1030 mm, Solaris has 1015, Ravon Gentra 1015, Polo has a modest 1010 mm. The distance from the pedals to the knee and to the back of the front seat, depending on the height of the person, is in the range: 975-1175; Logan has a distance from 960 mm to 1190; Hyundai Solaris has from 970 to 1190; Ravon has numbers from 965-1145; Polo 955-1150. Interior height in the middle of the car: Lada Vesta – 1190 mm; Logan - 1210 mm; Solaris – 1200 mm; Ravon – 1170 mm; Polo – 1180 mm. The distance from the rear sofa (with a passenger) to the ceiling is 2180-925 mm; by the way, the Solaris is the same. Ravon has 960 mm, just like Logan; Polo-935 mm Distance from the back of the rear row to the front seat: Vesta from 610 to 850 mm; Logan from 645 to 855 mm; Solaris from 565 to 810 mm; Ravon from 660 to 890 mm; Polo from 632-880 mm. It is clear from the numbers that our car is not the tightest.
Profile - side view
A photo of the Lada Vesta from the side no less expressively demonstrates the beauty of the new product. In general, the side part is made quite utilitarian - the roof is slightly tilted back, the doors are medium-sized, the feet climb onto the rear fenders. All this is familiar from a lot of other models. But the highlight lies in the expressive curves made in the shape of the same letter “X”. In the photo it is noticeable that the sides “begin” on the front and rear wings, and the curves run along the front and rear doors, respectively. These stampings are made very clearly.
Equipment Luxe (Lux)
The Luxury trim level of the Lada Vesta takes up almost half of all possible trim levels, because... Luxury, unlike other trim levels, has as many as 9 variations. Here Vesta comes with all possible odds and ends, which we will talk about below. The luxury package primarily has 16-wheel alloy wheels, fog lights, an armrest, a sports package (exhaust tips, spoiler, pedal attachments for a fee), a 7-inch touch radio; which is not found in any of the Comfort and, especially, Classic configurations. Also, in the cheapest Luxury package you get rain and light sensors, but the full power package will not be on all “Luxes”; in fact, one version will have rear manual “oars” for windows.
Engine
The engine is still the same, 1.6 106 hp. with index 21129. In the near future we are waiting for the installation of a power unit from Nissan with a capacity of 114 hp, and, perhaps, a domestic 1.8 liter engine with phase shifters with a power of 122 hp, which is installed on the Lada Xray, again in top-end configurations .

This configuration differs from the Luxe Y00 configuration only in the presence of a unique bright “Lime” body color and a touchscreen radio with navigation instead of the usual monochrome display. The cost of this package is an additional 19 thousand rubles.

Additional equipment compared to Luxe Y00: Cruise control, speed limit, rear view camera, multifunction steering wheel. The Lime body color is not available in this version. The cost of these goodies is 24 thousand rubles.

Torpedo
The Lada Vesta Torpedo is made monolithically, with a minimum of transitions and a center console protruding forward. A 3-spoke steering wheel with shift buttons rises in front of the driver. And just behind it is a striking dashboard, in which the tachometer, speedometer and other gauges are enclosed in deep wells. The toxic lighting of the devices is no less striking, although not everyone may like this color.
The central console of LADA Vesta is divided into 2 large blocks. A radio and multimedia system were nestled on top, which on expensive versions will be replaced by a large display. Below is the climate unit, which is responsible for the temperature in the cabin. And between them there are other option control keys. The transmission tunnel is made quite neatly, along with the gearshift lever rising there.
Main characteristics of the Lux package
Lada Vesta with the Lux package is available with two power units: 1.6 l 5MT (106 hp) and 1.8 l 5AMT (122 hp). This choice exactly meets the requirements of the Russian consumer, where many prefer to choose cars with less powerful engines, but at the same time in top trim levels. For the city, the 1.6 liter engine becomes the optimal unit. Much more important is internal convenience for the driver and passengers, who are often children.
The starting price at the moment is from 710 thousand rubles. There is no reason to consider the cost too high - it is worth familiarizing yourself with the equipment. Let’s not forget about the standard option for all AvtoVAZ products called “ERA-GLONASS”. It costs each buyer an extra thousand rubles. Taking into account modern security requirements, such a sacrifice should be considered inevitable.

The choice of equipment does not affect the exterior in any way. Comfort has similar additions to Lux. 16" wheels with a 15" steel spare wheel. Handles and mirrors are painted to match the body color.
