Sensor in Mazda badge. Here is https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=GyBTGLL7tAA&NR=1more detailed video. The guy puts the car on cruise, takes his feet off the pedals, and at 100 mph (or so he says) the car stops.
Why the system didn’t work on the boxes - most likely the dimensions didn’t fit, we need to take more, either in width or height.

Everyone has a rear collision protection system! It is implemented through abs, the car automatically blocks the brakes if you are hit from behind! The system does not require any radars. Don't confuse one system with another. The next stage in the development of this system is blocking the brakes during a tangential impact, a system with a complex operating algorithm, the driver can cancel the actions of the car, Mazda does not yet have this, so far only the Germans have this.
Regarding the automatic braking system, it should work, now many cars are equipped with exactly the same electronics, Mazda did not invent it

State-of-the-art technology: more driving pleasure
Featuring exceptional agility and responsiveness that is rare for a crossover, the new Mazda CX-5 is an exhilarating driving experience. The vehicle, which uses innovative SKYACTIV technologies, demonstrates outstanding fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Thanks to the use of the new G-Vectoring Control system, the ride and controllability of the car has been improved.
The new Mazda CX-5 also features i-ACTIVSENSE active safety technologies that help the driver cope with any situation. Built-in cameras and sensors recognize danger in a timely manner and minimize the likelihood of an incident. The Revolution comes with a safety package that includes Adaptive LED headlights, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane-keep Assist and a host of other safety features to help you any trip is safe and enjoyable.
G-Vectoring Control
The intelligent engine, transmission, chassis and body control system G-Vectoring Control improves vehicle handling and driving comfort. The system optimally distributes the load on the wheels and the acceleration force when cornering, increases steering accuracy, reducing the need for adjustments, and also increases travel, relieving passengers of motion sickness symptoms.
i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive
Mazda's i-ACTIV AWD system enhances control when accelerating, turning, braking and when driving on slippery surfaces. The system increases torque delivered to the rear wheels just enough to improve traction, traction and stability. Using 27 sensors, the i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive system distributes power 200 times per second and engages all-wheel drive mode as needed.
SKYACTIV BODY AND CHASSIS
The lighter a car is, the more economical and enjoyable it is to drive. The SKYACTIV body of the new Mazda CX-5 is one of the safest and lightest in its class. Thanks to improvements to the SKYACTIV suspension and chassis, the ride quality has been increased, and cabin comfort has been increased due to improved sound insulation.
Color Active Driving Display
The innovative color Active Driving Display displays the most important information on the windshield – in the driver's line of sight. The display shows speed indicators, navigation data with turns, and road signs, allowing the driver to keep his attention on the road (Revolution Top).
Engines
Engines are available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel engine is available in two power options: 150 hp. and 175 hp
Petrol 2.0-liter or 2.5 liters develop 165 hp. and 194 hp respectively.
Adaptive LED headlights
You do not need to switch the high beam to the low beam yourself when you see a car moving towards you. The Mazda CX-5's Adaptive LED headlights do this automatically (on the Revolution trim), while providing excellent visibility even in poor visibility conditions. When driving on a motorway, the light output is distributed in such a way that road signs can be distinguished and potential dangers can be detected.
Battery replacement
The need to replace an outdated battery on a Mazda CX-5 occurs when the maximum power level drops below 25%. You can install the container using a loading fork or another method. A battery that has lost more than three quarters of its charge cannot be restored. The design of the car is simplified, so installation can be carried out even without experience.
The battery replacement procedure includes:
- You first need to disconnect the electric current sensor from the negative terminal of the old battery to turn off the power to the on-board computer.
- Disconnect all terminals.
- Then you need to remove the bar to fix it.
Then, you need to wait about 5-10 minutes until the PCM memory is cleared. Then install the new battery in the reverse order of removing the old one.
Initialization and configuration procedures
Initial training
If the valve body and pressure sensor have been replaced with new ones, the initial learning procedure must be performed. If the initial training is not completed, the engine speed may exceed the permissible value or the shock from shifting gears may become more noticeable. If initial learning is not completed, DTC P06B8:00 will be displayed.
The initial training procedure can be carried out either with or without the M-MDS device. It is easier to activate initial learning using the M-MDS device.
Attention
: Initial learning forcibly shifts gears in driving mode while the engine is running. Before performing initial training, be sure to apply the parking brake securely and chock the front and rear wheels. Failure to do so may cause the vehicle to move and cause personal injury or equipment damage.
Using M-MDS
Preparing for service
1. Make sure that initial training is necessary after replacing a particular part.
Replacement part | Need for initial training |
Replacing valve bodies | Necessary |
Replacing the oil pressure sensor | Necessary |
Replacing an automatic transmission | No need |
Replacing the On/Off Solenoid | No need |
Replacing the connecting element | No need |
2. Apply the parking brake securely and install wheel blocks under the front and rear wheels.
3. Check the automatic transmission fluid level.
4. Connect the M-MDS device to the DLC-2 connector.
5. Use the M-MDS device to identify the vehicle.
6. Start the engine.
7. After the car has been identified, select the following parameters:
- Select “Data logger”
- Select “Module”
- Select “TCM” (Transmission Control Module)
8. Monitoring the PID TFT (automatic transmission fluid temperature) value, warm up the engine and gearbox to 40
Beginning of the initial training procedure
1. After the car has been identified, select the following parameters:
- Select “Self-test” (self-diagnosis)
- Select “Module”
- Select “TCM” (Transmission Control Module)
Note
: If initial learning is not completed, DTC P06B8:00 will be displayed.
2. Start the engine and wait at least 30 seconds.
3. Press the brake pedal and do the following:
Attention
: If the brake fluid pressure sensor value is normal or lower, the initial training must be stopped to ensure safety. Accordingly, the following must be observed: – Press the brake pedal firmly when performing initial learning. – Do not press the brake pedal again. Otherwise, the pressure in the brake booster will drop and the braking force will decrease.
- Move the selector lever from position P to position D and press the button to delete fault codes for the M-MDS device.
- If the M-MDS screen returns to displaying fault codes, move the selector lever from position D to position M within 10 seconds and check that the engine speed increases from idle.
Note
: – The initial learning procedure begins after increasing the crankshaft speed. If the rotation speed does not increase, repeat the procedure from the beginning. – If the initial learning procedure is stopped during execution for any reason, the shift position indicator stops flashing. If this happens, repeat the procedure from the beginning.
- After the shift position indicator flashes twice, move the selector lever from position M to position P and stop the engine.
Note
: Be careful not to miss the double flashing of the gear shift indicator, as this flashing occurs only once.
Service warning
A good car owner conducts a daily inspection of the condition of his car. Routine operations are carried out according to the crossover's mileage mode or according to calendar dates.
Traditionally, the period between the nearest technical services is a calendar year or 15 thousand kilometers, depending on which event occurs faster.
For certain brands of cars, the manufacturer has the right to adjust the service plan depending on external circumstances or the technical features of the vehicle.
Other factors may also have an influence:
- car modification;
- operating conditions;
- climatic features, etc.
Most often, the interval between works is reduced, as consumables are exhausted, the performance characteristics of individual mechanisms decrease, and the performance of some systems decreases. If the driver ignores the requirements of the car manufacturer and significantly extends the service interval, then such actions can lead to failure of units or components.
