But the 102-horsepower sixteen-valve engine installed on the test cars is designed for 95-octane gasoline.

As for sales statistics, of the 26,460 Largus sold in 11 months of 2020, 50% of sales were made up of regular Largus. Another 30% of buyers preferred the Cross version, and the remaining 20% ​​chose the van.

I'll tell you a little about the test drive of this car. It was necessary to take a marketing specialist to conduct one event. Then, of course, take it back. Well, in the meantime, I decided to take this car for a little drive in order to get the overall picture, so to speak, and add up all the pros and cons.

I will try to objectively talk about my impressions and the small incident that happened at the end.

Previously, a couple of times I drove a Largus van, with an 8-valve Renova engine. He seemed rather weak, but strong. This Largus is 7-seater, with a 102 hp engine.

In general, adjusting the seat height allows you to sit more comfortably behind the wheel, more comfortably. The area of ​​plastic on the door and under the windshield is larger than on the grant and allows you to rest your hand more comfortably. Lounging voluptuously in a chair. The seats themselves are a little softer than on the same grant and perhaps the fifth point will get tired on a long journey. On the other hand, the length of the seat, longer than Grant's, is more comfortable for the legs and on a long journey, this is only a plus for comfort when you have to constantly keep your foot on the accelerator pedal. The thighs fit tighter to the seat. In the grant, the leg is constantly hanging, which makes it tired.

Control of the radio is clear the first time. Volume controls on the left and radio station search controls on the right, classic layout. In principle, convenient and at hand.

But I’m not used to climate control. Every time you have to bend down and peer at the air flow direction regulator. The control panel is located at the very bottom of the beard and seems to rotate slightly towards the bottom. Because of this, there is some discomfort. Perhaps I'm too picky, but I think that controls for both the climate control and the radio should be within easy reach.

The power window buttons, still located on the beard, are a little confusing. One way or another, you have to use them more often and it’s much more convenient to feel them on the door, in a familiar place, and you don’t even need to turn your head. And here, you have to look, whether I pointed my finger there, or whether I pressed it. You can come to terms with it, but you really want it, you really want it to improve.

A couple more nuances. The mirror controls are located under the parking brake lever. Of course, we can say that they don’t belong there and it’s not convenient. But you must admit, we don’t use them very often; I set them up once and that’s it. That's what I did. I immediately put it out for a comfortable view of the situation and that’s it, I didn’t go there anymore.

In general, I felt more comfortable in the front, especially while driving, than in the back seat. Everything would be fine, but as soon as I sat down behind me, I immediately felt the seat belt fastening against my butt.

Why it was necessary to mount the belt buckles directly in the seat cushion is not entirely clear to me. Not only do you have to sit on it, but because of this there is less space. You can, of course, move closer to the door, but this is still comfort. Three people on the back seat will be completely uncomfortable. I think that the best option is when the locks are located between the seat and backrest.

There is, of course, less room in the knees than in the West, but in general it’s not bad at all.

Having bought three packs of coffee and tea in the store, and on a hot day a bottle of mineral water, the question arose, where to put it?

There is plenty of space, but not enough hooks. One and a half glasses of mineral water did not fit into the front seat pocket.

You can’t throw it on the rear seats either, it will fly around the cabin, but in the trunk, there’s freedom. A package fits in a niche behind the mesh on the left, and there is an excellent place under the eggplant in the area of ​​the third row of seats.

There is a convenient cup holder and just enough space for a half-truck. A two-liter won't fit in there, but a lorry costs like a glove. And most importantly, everything is in place, does not rattle or wobble.

Now a few words about the running advantages and disadvantages. And also about appearance.

Of course, the energy intensity of the suspension is impressive, although in the simple version it is comfortable. Due to the increased ground clearance, I did not notice any inconvenience in driving. On the highway, the “cruiser” goes smoothly and clearly. Obediently obeys the steering wheel. But on city roads, which are full of uneven surfaces, when driving through them, a little shock from the road surface is transmitted to the steering wheel. Not significant, but I didn’t notice this during the grant. Especially in the news. Somewhat reminiscent of x-ray. There, too, from the joints, it hits the steering wheel a little. Perhaps the peculiarities of the Renovsky pedigree affect it.

All this is not very annoying, but it is a certain minus for comfort anyway.

A real cruiser, a conqueror of space.

For example, if you choose between Vesta SV and SV cross, I would give preference to Vesta SV. As for Largus, I would prefer the cross version. I don't know why, it's my preference.

Although, by and large, it’s time to update Largus. Whatever you say, it is a little outdated in terms of modernization. This begs the question of changes to the headlights, in terms of adding daytime running lights. The habit takes its toll; I forget to turn on the low beam, as well as to turn it off. It’s good to have a reminder and when you remove the key from the ignition, the car signals with its signal that the driver forgot to turn off the low beam.

I would also like to see the presence of exchange rate stabilization in the car’s configurations, which has become an integral part for many car brands in the budget segment. And of course, eliminating minor oddities, such as adjusting the mirrors, under the handbrake and moving the mirror controls to a familiar place.

On the other hand, such changes will lead to an inexorable rise in the price of the car. And this, in turn, may affect sales of such a station wagon. Which, by the way, is in demand.

This is the impression the Lada Largus Cross car left about itself.

Well, in conclusion of my story, I’ll tell you about an incident that slightly overshadowed the impressions of driving this spacious station wagon.

I moved around the city, constantly in the middle lane, at an average speed of flow. I enjoyed the controls, I wasn’t in a hurry, I just had fun and enjoyed the sound of the standard audio system, listening to tracks from some radio station.

At one of the T-shaped intersections, moving along the main road in the forward direction, under a green traffic light, I got into an accident. From a secondary road, under the green arrow, with the main red signal, a Chevrolet Niva driven by an elderly grandfather was driving into the intersection. I had already passed the intersection when I felt a side impact. The Niva did not drive into the far right lane, but drove halfway into the middle lane, not giving me an advantage. More precisely, not being convinced of the safety of the maneuver, she rammed her bumper into the rear right fender and the rear right door, leaving a rather large dent on it.

A quick look at the appearance

I didn't notice any major changes at the front. Once again you can see a slight update of a new product from a domestic manufacturer. But I want to see something that can surprise, that will make me buy this car.

If previously the body around the radiator grille and bumper was covered with paint applied to iron, now the surface consists of plastic. It's almost everywhere in front. The radiator grille and air intake remained the same, and the bumper was covered with plastic with minor bumps.

The optics have not changed. The wheel arches received the same plastic surface and now clearly bend around the wheels. A plastic line was drawn down the center of the doors and at the base of the car. The ground clearance has increased and is now 18.5 cm.

The rear of the 2020 Lada Largus Cross has not changed in any way, except for the added lines on the surface of the station wagon. From the outside, the car has all the options necessary for fast and high-quality movement. It is worth listing them:

  • rails for installing items during transportation;
  • 16-inch wheels;
  • fog lights;
  • Compact and optimized exterior elements for speed.

Redesigned interior

Inside the car you feel like you are in the cabin of one of the popular Renault models. All the same budget upholstery and only a few details that were added from the Volga designers. A slightly modified steering wheel and dashboard were integrated into the pseudo-crossover. Although it cannot be said that the instrument panel has been significantly changed.

The seats still have a semicircular base and small edges. In order not to fly away when turning, you will have to hold on well. The multimedia content here is weak, without a screen and all the amenities that we are used to seeing in the interiors of other cars. This is noticeable in the photo of the interior of the 2020 Lada Largus Cross. Among the amenities here are:

  • radio with Bluetooth, USB;
  • air conditioner;
  • onboard;
  • hydraulic booster;
  • heated steering wheel;
  • heated front seats;

Buyers can choose one of two interior seat options. Namely 5 seats or 7 seats in the cabin. Naturally, the option with 7 seats involves folding them plus freeing up space for loading the luggage compartment. AvtoVAZ took care of safety while driving. To achieve this, the following options have been set.

  1. Airbags for everyone.
  2. ABS brake system.
  3. One of the conveniences is the color scheme “carbon”, “tropical” or “mocha”.
  4. Parking sensors optional.

Technical equipment and prices

The car will be sold with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with a power of 105 hp. This unit consumes 8 liters of gasoline per 100 km of mixed travel. Acceleration to the first hundred takes 11.2 seconds. The Lada Largus Cross 2020 2020 technical specifications have not changed much.
