Good spark plugs: rating, description, photo

The last days of NATO

At the VI international forum “Army-2020”, Russian couturiers presented unconventional, but very flirty military-style cassocks, made in the form of camouflage. The new items have a detachable hem, and also have zippers and textile fasteners instead of buttons.

The battle pop set also includes camouflage green candles. For particularly stupid and shell-shocked soldiers who will not be able to identify a church soldier by his naughty skirt, special patches and emblems have been introduced: in the place where the buttonholes should be there is an Orthodox cross, and instead of the soldier’s surname, the name and church rank are embroidered.

How Buddhists, Catholics and other rabbis of the Russian army will be dressed has not yet been specified, but there is no doubt that if you turn to the graceful and beautifully tinted Valentin Abramovich Yudashkin, he will solve this issue with all his pleasure.

8.7.1. Appearance of the spark plug

The spark plugs have a thread diameter of 14 mm. The manufacturer recommends certain spark plugs, but spark plugs from other manufacturers with the appropriate calorific value can also be used.

The distance between the spark plug electrodes is presented in the adjustment and control table.

Before removing the spark plugs, clean the wells in which the spark plugs are located so that after removing the spark plugs, dirt does not get into the holes for them. To remove the spark plugs, you should only use a wrench specifically designed for this purpose, and the HV wires from the spark plugs on the VR6 engine can only be removed with a special tool.

When working with spark plugs, observe the following rules:

— when removing the HV wire from the spark plug, do not pull the wire itself, but only the tip of the HV wire;

— after removing the spark plugs, fold them in the order of the cylinders;

— if, during removal, some spark plug gets stuck, there is no need to use force, as you can tear off the threads in the cylinder head made of light alloy. In this case, as an exception, try removing the spark plug after warming up the engine to operating temperature, taking precautions;

— Before installing new spark plugs, you should wait until the engine has cooled down. Otherwise, the threads will be over-tightened (due to thermal expansion of the cylinder head material);

— spark plugs should be tightened to a torque of 30 Nm (2.0-liter engine) or 25 Nm (VR6 engine);

— if you don’t have a torque wrench, then tighten the new spark plug without force with a spark plug wrench so that the sealing ring sits in its place, then tighten it another 90° with a spark plug wrench. If you are installing old spark plugs, tighten them about 15° more.

Maintenance schedules recommend replacing spark plugs every 60,000 km or every 3 years. Even if the spark plugs are working without problems, they should still be replaced at the recommended intervals.

Adjusting the gap between spark plug electrodes

The car uses A17DVR or FE65CPR spark plugs.
Spark plug wrench with bit

Before starting work, disconnect the wire from the “–” terminal of the battery.

Replace spark plugs every 30,000 km, even if they are still in working order: old spark plugs can increase fuel consumption.

When preparing for winter use, replace the spark plugs with new ones.

Regularly check the connections between the high-voltage wires and the spark plugs and ignition coil. Keep high-voltage wires clean by periodically wiping them with a cloth. Contamination on the wire insulation can cause current leakage.

Warnings

When checking and replacing spark plugs, be careful: if the engine is hot, you may get burned.

Do not over-tighten the spark plugs; the ceramic plug insulator may crack, causing poor engine performance.
Before installing the spark plug, check and adjust the gap between the central and side electrodes (Fig. 224).
This operation must be carried out before winter operation of the car. The gap between the electrodes of the spark plugs should be in the range of 0.7-0.9 mm.

During operation, this gap constantly increases due to natural wear and tear of the contact material. An increase in the gap leads to an increase in breakdown voltage, which causes a disruption in spark formation and increased fuel consumption.

You need to check the gaps between the electrodes using a round feeler gauge. A flat feeler gauge does not take into account the uneven wear of the electrodes and can give a large error in measuring the gap.

Rice. 225. Adjusting the gap using a special tool

The gap between the electrodes can be increased or decreased only by bending the side electrode using a special tool (Fig. 225).
To do this, place the hook of the tool on the side electrode and carefully bend or straighten it. automn.ru

Bonus!

As an additional and killer army accessory, you can buy a set of “Velikoross” panties for liberated Russian soldiers, which, by the will of God, have fallen in price from 8 thousand rubles to two and a few kopecks. ! The defense budget will not “crack”, but the defeated NATO soldiers will have a brain knockout and will simply roll around in the green grass, blowing rainbow bubbles. Victoria!

Why set the spark plug gap?

The ignition system of most modern gasoline engines functions well only if all its elements are in good working order. If a minor disturbance occurs on the part of the established system, it becomes impossible for the unit to operate at full capacity.

A natural increase in the gap intervals of the electrodes leads to insufficient penetration force of the air-fuel mixture, to the loss of a large amount of energy and a decrease in the spark fuse. The resulting lack of mixture combustion in the cylinder can trigger the process of reducing the power of the internal combustion engine.

Any car owner should pay due attention to this point and check the spark plugs more often. To ensure uninterrupted operation of the engine, the following measures should be taken:

  • replace the ignition elements in time;
  • buy products according to the type of car;
  • Carry out frequent inspection of spark plug parts: unscrew them from the corresponding recesses and inspect them for damage;
  • if necessary, set the necessary clearance parameters.

Good spark plugs with traditional design: 77 00 500 168200

The inconspicuous markings hide original Renault spark plugs, created specifically for the Logan engine. Accordingly, their characteristics are ideal for operation with this motor, and quality stability and reliability are guaranteed by strict control of each stage of production by the plant.

Original spark plugs are produced by the French company Eyqiem, the main supplier to most European automakers. Good spark plugs are designed to address several issues specific to eight-valve engines:

  • The stability of the ignition of the mixture when it is unevenly distributed throughout the cylinder when operating in some modes due to the difference in the composition of the mixture in the volume of the combustion chamber and at its walls is ensured by a large extension of the central electrode into the combustion chamber. The spark gap located deep into the combustion chamber promotes ignition stability and improves ventilation;
  • A pair of side electrodes increases the life of the spark plug. Contrary to popular belief, a spark is formed between two, and not all, electrodes with the best conditions - absence of carbon deposits, shorter distance, and others. With inevitable wear of the “working” pair of electrodes, sparking is transferred to the second pair, although in practice it alternates between different pairs.

Original spark plugs are a good option due to their consistent quality. The resource, depending on the quality of the fuel and the condition of the engine, is 40 thousand kilometers maximum.

Advantages:

  • Consistently high quality.
  • Compliance with operating conditions in a specific engine.

Flaws:

  • The cost from an official dealer is several times higher than the market price, and in auto stores you can purchase it to order.

Beru Z193149

Single-electrode spark plug from a well-known manufacturer, part of the Federal Mogul concern. You shouldn’t expect super performance and great resources from them: they perform the main task – moving from maintenance to maintenance – superbly, but nothing more.

In comparison with the leaders in the rating, which are the best spark plugs for engines? Z193 spark plugs have three disadvantages:

  • Less working life due to single electrode design.
  • The reduced spark gap, on the one hand, makes it easier to start the engine with a dead battery, and on the other hand, it reduces the spark power. Coupled with low-quality fuel, this can cause misfires when operating under high load conditions.
  • The central electrode is somewhat recessed, which negatively affects the ventilation of the spark gap and ignition conditions. However, the real difference is only noticeable when testing spark plugs on dynos.

Additional advantages are wide popularity and affordable price.

Main advantages:

  • Affordable price.
  • Minimum level of counterfeit products on the market.

Flaws:

  • Design unsuitable for the engines listed in the vehicles.

NGK BKR6EIX (6418) 522

Which iridium spark plugs are best? NGK is not inferior here either - its BKR6EIX iridium spark plugs are considered one of the best in terms of workmanship, but still do not meet Renault's requirements for the size of the interelectrode gap - only 0.8 millimeters. Such spark plugs are ideal for installation on a new engine without excessive oil consumption - stable sparking, coupled with a reduced gap, allows you to start the engine even when the battery is almost completely discharged.

With the right choice of fuel, the working life of iridium spark plugs can reach 50,000 kilometers. For frequent use of the car in different directions, it is better to purchase two sets of standard spark plugs for the same price, since disabling an expensive set of spark plugs due to the use of low-quality fuel will be an irrational decision.

Main advantages:

  • Spark stability.
  • Potentially large working resource.

Flaws:

  • Non-compliance with the car manufacturer's requirements for the gap between the electrodes.
  • The price is too high.

OKI suppositories in gynecology

Drugs belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are used quite often in gynecology. After all, most diseases associated with this area are manifested by inflammation and pain. Often, gynecologists prefer to prescribe such drugs in the form of rectal suppositories. This is due to the fact that the active ingredients from this dosage form enter the blood much faster, since they do not pass through the stomach and are not subject to the destructive effects of enzymes.

Absorbed from the rectum, drugs bypass the liver and almost immediately enter the circulatory or lymphatic system of the small pelvis. This means that they act quite quickly, second in speed only to drugs used intravenously. One of these drugs is rectal suppositories with ketoprofen, under the trade name OKI.

NGK BKR6EK (2288) 210

What spark plugs are best to use? Alas, some believe that NGK candles are not Japanese-made, but not because of low quality, but because of the huge amount of Chinese counterfeit products sold on the market under this brand. Previously, most auto stores, trying to save on purchases, filled their shelves with low-quality “left-handed” products, which were easily distinguished from the original ones by poor-quality markings and crookedly soldered electrodes.

NGK spark plugs, from a design point of view, are not inferior to the original Renault spark plugs: their gaps between the electrodes are located in the combustion chamber. However, you can still detect their shortcomings:

  • Due to the rough stamping of the side electrodes, most noticeable at the ends, the protruding edges are quickly destroyed. This leads to spark instability, which is most pronounced at high pressure; The loss of engine power becomes noticeable at such moments.
  • The spark gap is 0.9 millimeters, which is slightly less than required. Considering the quality is not the best and the price is almost identical to higher quality candles, NGK does not get the highest place in the ranking.

Despite the fact that BRK6EK is almost identical to the original Renault spark plugs, in the catalog the manufacturer NGK for the K7M engine indicates compatibility only with single-electrode BKR6E. However, this option is more suitable from a financial point of view: with identical quality, the cost of these candles does not exceed 100 rubles.

Advantages:

  • Prevalence in stores.

Flaws:

  • Inconsistency in quality and rough production.
  • A large number of counterfeit products in auto stores.

Which spark plugs are better: iridium or regular ones?

My suspicions were confirmed by an article from the magazine “Behind the Wheel,” whose opinion I trust. They described a comparative test of spark plugs and recorded that after about 17-18 thousand kilometers, a car with simple spark plugs began to consume 4% more fuel. And after the same amount of time, fuel consumption rose to 8.5%.

The reason was as follows: when missed strokes were detected, the fuel system could not adjust it in any way, but the controller each time reacted to a large percentage of oxygen in the exhaust and immediately enriched the fuel mixture.

How did the engine perform with iridium spark plugs? At the mileage mark of 30 thousand km, the indicators did not change at all! Well, by the end of the experiment, the fuel still began to burn up, about 3% more.

And even so, there were no missed strokes, because the spark plugs worked flawlessly and ignited the fuel mixture without any problems.
