Is it possible to avoid a fine for xenon?

Tuning and repair of VAZ 2110

Very often, dozens of owners are not satisfied with the standard headlights. Firstly, it does not illuminate the road well enough, and secondly, visually it gives off a yellowish tint, which does not look very nice.

Therefore, in this article I will tell you how to install xenon in a VAZ 2110. Moreover, we will not consider here ordinary light bulbs that simply shine white (a kind of pseudo-xenon), but we will install real xenon with ignition units.

I’ll note right away that this type of modification is not complicated, so almost any car owner can do this kind of tuning of the VAZ 2110 optics.

Installing xenon on a VAZ 2110 at home - instructions + photo report

Today's article will be devoted to the head light. I will tell you how to install xenon on a VAZ 2110 with your own hands. That is, thanks to this photo report you will be able to pump up the headlights of your “ten” yourself.

This work is not particularly difficult and is quite feasible for the average car enthusiast.

Those who thought that today we will install “little blue light bulbs” that glow coolly, I will say that this is not so, no pseudo-xenon. We will install original full xenon lamps. I won’t delve into the history of the origin of xenon lamps; there are search engines for that; whoever needs it will find it. Today we will talk about how to install this miracle of technology on our VAZ 2110.

Which xenon to choose?

In this section I will not advertise any companies. As they say, there is no comrade according to taste. Here I want to talk about the glow temperature: 4300 K, 5000 K, 6000 K and so on. How are they different? Xenon lamps with a glow temperature of 4300 K and 5000 K appear bright white. 6000 K - blue tint. 8000 K - pinkish tint. Initially, many are mistaken that the higher the temperature, the better the visibility - this is not true, especially in rain or fog. Xenon light with a high combustion temperature is very strongly reflected from wet asphalt and from fog. Therefore, my advice to you is to use xenon at 5000 K. This is the best option.

Installing xenon on a VAZ 2110

Road illumination greatly affects comfort and safety. This is why it is so important to have a good light source in your car. Of course, weak lamps can be replaced with more powerful ones or additional lighting can be installed, but this will affect the generator, since the amount of electricity consumed will increase. The most optimal and best option is to install xenon lamps on the car - high-intensity discharge lamps. Xenon light is very close in spectrum to daylight; it has a white cone-shaped stream of light rays with shades of blue.

Advantages and disadvantages of xenon

So, what is brighter: xenon or halogen? A xenon lamp emits almost 2 times more light and approximately 2.5 times more intense than a conventional halogen source. This advantage allows the driver to see road signs located at a relatively long distance. Despite this, less energy is consumed and, accordingly, the load on the generator becomes lighter.

If your car has xenon lamps installed, there is no possibility of a so-called light wall appearing when traffic moves during precipitation. In addition, due to its similarity to daylight, such lighting will not negatively affect the driver’s vision, and if properly configured and focused, it will not affect other vehicle electronics. As a result, your lighting will not irritate the eyes of oncoming drivers. And this fact reduces the number of emergency situations, according to statistics, by approximately 40%. It has been proven that a person driving under xenon lighting much better assesses the situation on the road when the car is moving.

Although what is an advantage can also become a disadvantage in the wrong hands. Due to its bright qualities, xenon light without adjustment and proper focusing will become a source of dazzle for drivers of oncoming traffic. Therefore, if you decide to install this type of lamps, it is so important to approach the correct adjustment of lighting with the utmost rigor.

Lamps with a xenon light source are more expensive than usual, but this will be a kind of investment for you, because the amount spent will pay off within 1-2 years. Because the service life of xenon lamps in a car is almost 10 times higher than that of halogen. In general, what is the service life of xenon lamps? - about 2000 hours of operation, compared to halogen - 200-500 hours. Yes, replacement will cost a pretty penny, especially since it is better to change lamps in pairs so that the flow of emitted light matches, but is it really possible to save on comfort and safety? Now imagine how much energy your car saves! In addition, when buying cheap lamps, even if they indicate that they are xenon, there is a high risk of purchasing pseudo-xenon, and such a rash decision will subsequently cost you much more.

Among other disadvantages of xenon lamps, it is worth noting that they require a warm-up period.
If you did not purchase bi-xenon, you most likely will not be able to quickly switch the light, so to speak, “honk the horn”. And playing with light this way risks shortening the service life of xenon lamps.
Xenon lighting is prohibited abroad, so it is better to remove such lamps when going on a trip. The same must be done when undergoing car maintenance, if the lamps have a color temperature above 4800K .

To choose the right xenon, you need to know several nuances: the type of xenon, the parameters of the base of the lamp itself, the required power and the temperature of the lamp. The decision has been made, the lamps have been selected? You can start installing xenon on your car.

Preparation. I'll remove the headlights.

  1. At the very beginning of this modification, you need to remove the headlight, for this:
  2. Remove the negative from the battery.
  3. Disconnect power from the headlight. (disconnecting the chip from the wires)
  4. We unscrew a couple of bolts on top of the headlight, which secure it to the body.

  1. Now you need to remove the plastic radiator grille, as it covers another bolt.
  2. Using a screwdriver, pry the decorative trim towards the center and pull it out.
  3. Here it is, the nut that secures the headlight to the bracket. Using a key set to “10”, unscrew it.
  4. Now turn off the hydraulic corrector. Using a screwdriver, pry up the retainer, turn the corrector and remove it from the headlight.
  5. At this stage you need to remove the turn signal; this is done simply by unscrewing a couple of bolts.

Preparations for installing xenon are completed, now we begin the process itself.

It is advisable to purchase 4 “mothers” (at the ends of the wires) for ease of connection, so as not to make twists.

How to install xenon on a VAZ 2110

This advantage allows the driver to see road signs located at a relatively long distance. Despite this, less energy is consumed and, accordingly, the load on the generator becomes lighter.

Step-by-step guide for self-installation of xenon on a VAZ 2110

Due to the large number of cars on the roads with incorrectly converted “collective farm” headlights with xenon, which blind oncoming drivers, today you can hear more negative things than positive things about xenon. But it should still be recognized that xenon lamps in headlights are much brighter than conventional ones. They perfectly illuminate the road with daylight-like light, moreover, they have a longer service life and consume less energy. But installing xenon lamps yourself without thorough experience and knowledge is extremely undesirable. Incorrectly adjusted headlights will, at best, result in a fine, and in the worst case, a serious accident.

For those who are not put off by such a warning, and who are confident in their knowledge and ability to correctly adjust the headlights, read on to learn how to independently install xenon on a VAZ 2110. This manual should be used as an informational guide for a general understanding of the matter. There are a lot of small nuances that can ruin the whole thing. The installation of xenon on a VAZ 2110 should be accompanied by fine tuning of the light beam. If you see that the headlights are flashing, do not drive onto the road under any circumstances.

Further in the article, we describe a way to safely install xenon on the headlights of a VAZ 2110 using the least resistance. There is nothing complicated in the procedure, so with a sufficient level of desire and patience, you can complete the task without any problems. Go.

Necessary materials and tools for installing xenon on a VAZ 2110:

  • a set of xenon (High Intensity Discharge) lamps with wires and an ignition unit;
  • 4 female terminals (2 with regular fastening, 2 with fastening for thick wire);
  • insulating tape;
  • keys, screwdrivers, pliers - a standard set of tools.

Question of law

Legal equipment
Therefore, to install xenon as fog lights and main headlights, you will need to purchase a set of legal equipment. There must be an inscription in the form of the letter D on the headlight glass. It indicates that bi-xenon lights are connected to these headlights. Consequently, everything is legal, and therefore there is no need to fear the traffic police post.

If you have xenons but have an H on your headlight glass, you will have problems. This is because such an inscription indicates that halogen lamps must be located under the glass.

In 2020, you will be deprived of your license for xenon, how to install xenon correctly so as not to get caught

Vehicle headlights must be equipped with bulbs only provided for by the design of the vehicle - traffic police officers closely monitor this. Many car owners who have installed xenon themselves have questions about what the fine for xenon for 2020 is provided for by the legislation regulating road safety.

It’s no secret that unadjusted xenon headlights greatly blind drivers of oncoming vehicles, constantly creating emergency situations on the road.

It is clear that punishment for drivers whose car “shines” on the road brighter than a Christmas tree should be provided for by law.

However, neither the list of traffic violations prohibiting the operation of a vehicle, nor the Code of Administrative Offenses directly says anything about the installation of non-standard xenon lamps.

But drivers should not calm down, since the traffic police has adopted an official unambiguous interpretation of this offense.

Moreover, these clarifications were published a relatively long time ago - in 2010, and have not changed since then. This will certainly be of interest to drivers who are interested in what fine they will have to pay for xenon in 2019. Let us immediately note that for such a violation, if detected by a traffic police officer, a protocol will be drawn up under Art. 12.5 Part 3 of the Administrative Code, according to which the driver is deprived of his license for a period of six months to a year in the following cases:

  1. If red headlights or reflective devices of the same color are installed;
  2. Lighting devices whose operating mode and color do not comply with the rules for admission to vehicle operation.

In accordance with the list of malfunctions of external lighting devices, according to which operation of the vehicle is prohibited, operation of the vehicle is not permitted in the following cases:

  1. If the operating mode and type of headlights do not correspond to the design and are not provided by the vehicle manufacturer (there is a note according to which lighting devices from other cars can be used on discontinued models);
  2. If the headlight adjustment does not comply with GOST;
  3. If the lenses and lamps do not match the type of lighting fixture.

There are no more provisions of interest to us in this article, but those already presented above are enough to deprive the rights of a driver who has unauthorizedly installed unadjusted and not designed xenon headlights for the entire next year. Therefore, we will repeat it especially for those motorists who are wondering what kind of fine they can receive for xenon - administrative punishment is provided exclusively in the form of deprivation of rights.

However, a fine is not always provided for xenon in fog lights, as well as in the situation with headlights. It all depends on the type of lamps provided by the manufacturer, as well as the correspondence of the markings of the lamps and headlights. And for xenon headlights, the markings may be as follows:

  • DC – xenon lamps can be used for low beam;
  • DR – for high beam;
  • DCR - gas discharge sources are used in both modes of headlight operation.

If the marking contains letters, for example, HСR, then only halogen lamps are installed in the headlights - in this case, the use of xenon lamps is already prohibited. The simple C, R and CR markings indicate that only incandescent lamps are used.

They should already be equipped with an automatic light beam corrector and washer. This way, you won’t be able to get caught by a traffic police officer by accident. But only a technical supervision inspector and exclusively at a stationary post can determine the presence of xenon bulbs in the headlights of a car.

So, if the headlights of your car were originally designed to use xenon lamps, you can safely communicate with any traffic police officer, since he will not be able to fine you or deprive you of your license for this.

If you installed xenon lamps in the headlights without permission, then remember your rights when talking with a traffic inspector - he has the right to stop you to check the compliance of the headlights with current standards exclusively at a stationary post, and the inspection can only be carried out by a technical supervision inspector with the appropriate certificate.

If your car has PTF standard installed at the factory, then such xenon in the fog light is definitely legal, legal, and no one has the right to fine you or deprive you of your driver’s license.

Deprivation of rights for xenon - is it legal and how to avoid it?

As a rule, such fog lights perform their functions perfectly, creating a flat and wide horizontal stream of light that spreads over the road, well illuminating the side of the road and the road for 10-20 meters in the fog.

They mark the car well and do not blind oncoming drivers.

It is also possible by law to install xenon in the PTF, if they are structurally designed for xenon; the car’s fog lights have the corresponding markings - D, DC, DCR.

The designation D indicates that the PTF allows the use of xenon lamps.

If your car's fog lights are marked with the letter H, it means that only halogen bulbs can be used in these fog lights, and it is illegal to install xenon bulbs.

From all of the above, we can conclude that by installing xenon in fog lights, you will violate the xenon law only if they are not intended to use xenon lamps. PTFs are subject to the same requirements as headlights.

According to the List of faults and conditions under which the operation of vehicles is prohibited: 3.4. Light fixtures do not have lenses or use lenses and lamps that do not match the type of light fixture.

Therefore, if the design of the fog lights on a car does not provide for the installation of xenon bulbs, then the penalty for “collective farm” xenon in the PTF will be the same as for “collective farm” xenon in the headlights.

  • If your standard PTF lamps have burned out, then replace them with new halogens, which perfectly illuminate the road in bad weather.
  • Another option for replacing “fashionable” xenon is to use lamps from the Japanese company IPF. This manufacturer produces a large number of special series lamps designed to illuminate the roadway in rainy, snowy or foggy weather.
  • Today, a large assortment of LED sources for head lighting can offer car owners LED lamps that are designed specifically for bad weather. Such light sources are characterized by a yellowish glow, which is 100% effective for lighting in conditions of limited visibility.
  • In order to attract the attention of others, install LED DRLs, which not only make the car more attractive in appearance, but also make driving safer.

We invite you to read: Actions of participants in road accidents according to the European protocol

Remember! Xenon lamps can only safely shine in optics that are originally designed for gas-discharge type use. Such sources are marked “D”. Otherwise, this is a violation of the rules prescribed in the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (CoAp).

There is no barrier to installing xenon lights in fog lights, but only if they are designed for that purpose.

The headlight itself should have a D marking, and inside it the manufacturer should have left space for installing such a light bulb.

If the lamp is intended for halogen or other devices, then it is illegal to install xenon there, and in this case it is better to re-equip the headlights by changing their pillars.

As you know, any working relationship with traffic police officers is clearly regulated.

Of course, if you put xenon on the old “five” it’s difficult not to notice the violation, but with more modern brands of cars the situation is different. Large concerns annually make small changes to the design of cars, including replacing lighting elements with xenon ones.

Deprivation of rights for xenon - is it legal and how to avoid it?

If your car was not initially equipped with xenon, but later began to be produced with it, you can also install it. It must be equipped with a washer and a light beam corrector. In this case, the traffic police inspector is unlikely to suspect a violation of the rules.

If you are standing and see an inspector approaching you, do not rush to drive away. After all, driving with non-standard xenon is punished more severely than simply installing it.

When checking, it would be a good idea to ask the inspector to present his identification; this is useful if you have to appeal the decision.

Before asking you to open the hood for inspection, the inspector must take care of the presence of two witnesses or a video camera in accordance with Part 2 of Article 27.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation:

  • “Inspection of a vehicle is carried out by the persons specified in Articles 27.2, 27.3 of this Code, in the presence of two witnesses or using video recording.”
  • If the technical inspection inspector still asks you to open the hood for inspection, remind them that in the event of a breakdown, you will seek full compensation for the damage caused, and you are not required to unscrew the light bulbs yourself for demonstration, say that you simply “don’t know how” to do this.
  • If the car is under warranty, then it is absolutely forbidden to violate the integrity of its seals.

The fine is 500 rubles.

  • I note that if the design of your car requires the installation of xenon bulbs, then xenon headlights should not create any problems and a fine for xenon cannot be imposed.

Until January 25, 2020, a car could only be checked for xenon bulbs at a stationary traffic police post. However, in 2020 this requirement does not apply, i.e. You can check your car's headlights anywhere (as well as the light transmission of the windows).

Good luck on the roads!

Methods for checking a vehicle for the use of xenon in fog headlights (Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “List of faults and conditions under which it is prohibited to operate a vehicle”) are listed in GOST R 51709-2001.

Penalty for xenon in 2020: in fog lights, main headlights

As such, there is no punishment in the form of a fine for the use of gas-filled lamps in fog lamps! The problems and everything connected with them regarding the installation of xenon in the external light headlights of a vehicle are described in Part 3 of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The punishment for violating the law is strict – deprivation of rights for a period of 6 months to 1 year.

Warning! The decision to initiate a case for an administrative violation is sent to the court, which makes a decision to deprive the driver of his rights.

Xenon lovers should not be upset in advance. The law is quite flexible (Part 3 of Article 12.5) and has a fairly free interpretation. A good lawyer will be able to prove the driver’s innocence. And that's why:

  • The action of installing xenon lamps, with a competent approach, often changes to considering the violation prescribed in Part 1, Art. 12.5;
  • deprivation of rights may be subject to a fine of no more than 500 rubles.

Benefits and Potential Problems

Bi-xenon does an excellent job of illuminating the roadway and adjacent areas. This applies to both headlights and fog lights. A characteristic feature of xenon is that it emits bright white light with a blue tint.

Xenon in headlights and PTF

Fog lights from Bosch, which are installed on the VAZ 2110, do not have lenses. Instead, reflectors are provided here. This makes the beam of light not low enough.

Therefore, when installing xenon, it is very important to install focusing lenses so that the bi-xenon behaves appropriately. That is, it illuminated the road efficiently and did not blind oncoming cars.

Removal

Kit
Of course, without dismantling the old headlights it will be impossible to install xenon devices. Dismantling is performed as follows.

  1. The vehicle is deprived of power by removing the negative terminal from the battery.
  2. The connectors going to the headlights are disconnected. All without exception.
  3. The fasteners are removed from the top mount. The bolts are located there.
  4. The radiator grille is dismantled.
  5. The bolt that holds the headlight unit in its lower part is removed. He's there alone.
  6. Next, pry up the cover using a flat-head screwdriver and remove it.
  7. Now take a 10 mm wrench and use it to remove the fixing nut to the bracket.
  8. All that remains is to remove the headlight unit.
  9. Do not forget to pry the hydraulic correction cylinder retainer using the same flat-head screwdriver to remove the unit.
  10. The direction indicators are removed. To do this, simply unscrew a couple of bolts.

Module installation

If you want the installation of xenon on a VAZ 2110 to be carried out within the law, buy a new approved module.

Kirzhach in analysis

Just be sure to take into account the fact that the “Bavarian” Hella Lens G2 . This is a second generation module with wider lenses. The first generation is not suitable for us.

Of course, the cars are structurally different, so the installation will have to be slightly adjusted.

To get started, purchase the necessary materials. Just two pieces:

  • Ignitor;
  • Ignition unit;
  • Hella lenses;
  • Bi-xenon lights.

If you take used lenses rather than new ones, purchasing the entire set will cost you about 3.5 thousand rubles. Since you will install them yourself, there should be no additional financial costs.

The revision process looks like this.

  1. Measure the size of the seat where the standard Kirzhach module is mounted. Now the Hella module will be located there. The place should be prepared in advance.
  2. The standard wiring is connected to the wiring from the bi-xenon optics. There are no problems here, since everything matches perfectly.
  3. Now the new bi-xenon module is put in place.
  4. You can fix the ignition unit in any way convenient for you, since there is more than enough space for installation in the VAZ 2110.

Installation in a standard headlight unit

Preparing the wiring
This can be done by following a certain sequence of actions:

  • The first step is to disconnect the negative cable from the battery;
  • Prepare the wiring. The plus goes to a yellow wire, the minus goes to a brown wire. Two minuses and the same number of pluses are crimped one by one, after which they must be carefully insulated;
  • Process the holes for the lamps with a simple handy tool - a file. Check periodically to see if the bulbs are included. If you overdo it with sharpening, it will be more difficult to return the sawn material to its place;
  • Now install bi-xenon optics;
  • The wiring from the light bulbs is pulled through the protective cover. You will have to drill a hole first. Therefore, having a drill at hand is a must;
  • After installing the headlight in the base, fix it. Just don’t get too clever with polarity;
  • Along with the lamp, instructions for connecting the ignition unit are provided. Follow it, there is nothing complicated in this scheme;
  • Replace the headlights;
  • Connect the negative terminal back to the battery;
  • If the headlights function and turn on as expected, then the work can be considered completed early. There remains the last, but very important stage - adjustment.

Installing xenon on a VAZ 2110

Many drivers like to install xenon on their cars, today we will tell you in more detail about installing xenon on a VAZ 2110 with your own hands.

Installing xenon on a VAZ 2110 with your own hands:

The first step is to remove the headlight.

1. Disconnect the car from power; to do this, remove the negative terminal from the battery.

2. After this, disconnect the power connector of the headlight unit.

3. Using a wrench, unscrew the two upper headlight mounting bolts.

4. Remove the decorative radiator grille and unscrew the lower mounting bolt.

5. Use a screwdriver to pry up the decorative trim, move it closer to the middle, then pull it out completely so that it does not interfere.

6. Using the socket set at “10″, unscrew the nut securing the headlight unit to the bracket, then remove the headlight unit itself.

7. Using a screwdriver, pry the hydraulic corrector cylinder retainer, turn it, and then remove it from the headlight housing.

8. Remove the “turn”, to do this you need to unscrew two bolts.

9. Now that nothing is stopping you, you can get the lamp and install xenon on the VAZ 2110.

10. Installation requires some parts, for example, you will need 4 female connectors (2 with simple fastening, 2 with fastening for thick wire).

Self-installation of xenon on a VAZ 2110. Connection.

1. With the headlight removed and the bulb removed, cut off the yellow and brown wires with a knife. The yellow wire is “plus”, the brown wire is “minus”. You need to use a knife or pliers to strip these wires.

2. Using pliers you need to crimp two brown wires and the “mother” under the thick wire, then insulate everything properly.

3. Repeat the same steps for the yellow wires. Only now you will need a “mother” for a thin wire.

4. I installed my xenon in the Kirzhach headlights, they came on without any problems. If you have Boshovsky installed, you will have to suffer. Using available materials and tools, you will need to widen the hole to accommodate a xenon lamp. Be careful, a hole that is too large can ruin everything.

5. Use a drill to drill a hole with a diameter

23mm, then pull the wiring through it.

6. Install the xenon lamp in the base, in the hole prepared for this. Then secure the lamp itself.

7. Connect the “mothers”. Be vigilant and extremely careful, if you confuse “plus” with “minus”, you can damage xenon lamps, as well as ignition units.

8. It’s not enough to install xenon lamps; you also need to connect them to the ignition unit. Detailed instructions are located in the photo below.

9. Now you can connect the “negative” terminal and check how your “homemade” xenon works.

10. I don’t know about you, but for me personally everything went like clockwork. Turning on the low beam, I saw the long-awaited bright blue light. The joy knew no bounds, I hope everything worked out for you too.

When installing xenon on a VAZ 2110 with your own hands is completed, repeat all the above steps in relation to the second headlight. Assembly is carried out in reverse order. Secure the ignition units in a dry and clean place. Let me remind you that the previous news was about replacing the timing belt on a VAZ 2110.

Attention!

After you install the xenon lamps,
be sure
to adjust the headlights, as described here. Respect other road users who may be blinded by bright, blinding lights that are shining directly into their eyes rather than onto the road. Remember, blindness can cause a serious accident.

Legal connection

You should know that the PTF may already have bi-xenon lamps and corresponding lenses installed from the factory. This is a PTF of the so-called class D, such a light is absolutely legal, inspectors cannot “find fault” with it.

To install xenon on a VAZ 2110 in foglights, as well as conventional headlights, it is necessary that the entire kit, which uses bi-xenon lamps, be legal. That is, these are, for example, licensed headlights or PTF. There must be a letter D on the glass itself, it is this that indicates that bi-xenon lamps need to be connected to this headlight. In this case, xenon is legal and will not cause any complaints.

If N is written on the headlight glass itself, then halogens are used here, and problems with the traffic police are quite likely.

An article dedicated to tuning the instrument panel in a VAZ 2110 car is located here: https://vazweb.ru/desyatka/salon/panel-priborov.html

Advantages and possible disadvantages

Actually, bi-xenon lenses illuminate the road perfectly - this applies to both conventional headlights and PTF. They produce bright white and blue light.

Another thing is that the PTF light should be low-directional, “piercing” the fog, but not blinding oncoming drivers. For example, in Boshevsky PTF there is no lens, there is only a reflector, which is why a low beam of light is not created.

This is why you need to install a focusing lens, then the bi-xenon lamps will behave in the best way - the driver can clearly see the road, and oncoming drivers do not feel the desire to take a brick and break your bi-xenon PTFs.

Dismantling

Before installing xenon on a VAZ 2110, you need to dismantle the old headlight unit. It happens like this:

  1. We de-energize the car by removing the negative from the battery;
  2. Disconnect all connectors from the headlights;
  3. Unscrew the mounting bolts from the upper mount;
  4. Remove the grille from the radiator;
  5. Unscrew one bolt securing the headlight unit from below;
  6. Use a screwdriver to pry up the cover and remove it;
  7. Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the nut securing it to the bracket;
  8. We take out the headlight unit;
  9. We pry it with a screwdriver, turn the hydraulic corrector cylinder lock, and remove it;
  10. Remove the turn signal by unscrewing a couple of bolts.

Installing xenon on a VAZ 2110 - step-by-step instructions

1. First of all, you need to remove the headlight. To do this you need:

  1. Disconnect the car from power; to do this, remove the negative terminal from the battery.
  2. After this, disconnect the power connector of the headlight unit.
  3. Using a wrench, unscrew the two upper headlight mounting bolts.

  1. Remove the decorative radiator grille and unscrew the lower mounting bolt.
  2. Using a screwdriver, pry up the decorative trim, move it closer to the middle, then pull it out completely so that it does not interfere.
  3. Using the socket at “10”, unscrew the nut securing the headlight to the bracket, then remove the headlight itself.
  4. Using a screwdriver, pry the hydraulic corrector cylinder lock, turn it, and then remove it from the headlight housing.
  5. Remove the “turn”; to do this you need to unscrew two bolts.
  6. Now that nothing is stopping you, you can get the lamp and install xenon on the VAZ 2110.

Installation requires some parts, for example, you will need 4 female connectors (2 with simple fastening, 2 with fasteners for thick wire).

Installing a new module

To carry out legal installation, it is better to purchase a good legal module and install it. For example, headlights from Hella promise to work well, but they must be of the second generation, they have wide lenses. Their designation is Lens G2, they are installed standard on the BMW E60, that is, the quality is excellent.

However, there are slight differences with those installed on the VAZ 2110, so they will need to be slightly modified.

You will need 2 pieces:

  • Hella lenses;
  • Ignitor;
  • Ignition unit;
  • Bi-xenon lamps.

The price of this kit, provided that used lenses are used, will be about 3,500 rubles.

Finalization and installation process:

  • We change the seat intended for the standard Kirzhach module under Hella;
  • We connect the wiring of the bi-xenon lamps to the standard one - everything here fits and matches;
  • Install a new module;
  • We fix the ignition unit in a way that is convenient for you (there is enough space).

Xenon in a regular headlight unit

If you decide to install bi-xenon lamps in the standard Kirzhach headlight unit, then proceed as follows:

  1. Getting the wires ready. Traditionally, plus is yellow, and minus is brown. We crimp two minuses, as well as two pluses, in turn, carefully insulating them;
  2. The holes for the lamps should be slightly processed with a file when trying on the lamps, so as not to overdo it;
  3. Install bi-xenon lamps;
  4. The wiring from the lamp should be routed into the protective cover. But for this you will need to drill a corresponding hole;
  5. Install and secure the headlight in the base without reversing the polarity;
  6. The ignition unit is connected according to the circuit that should come with the lamp;
  7. Reinstall the lights.

Now you can reconnect the battery and check how the new lighting works. Don't forget about adjustments!

How to install xenon on a VAZ 2110

If you decide to install xenon lamps on your car, you do not have to go to a service station. This procedure is not particularly complicated, and you can perform all the manipulations yourself. Today we will look at how to install xenon on a VAZ 2110. To do this, you will have to purchase 4 more connectors, the so-called “female” connectors: 2 with regular fastening and 2 with fastening for a thick wire. So let's get started:

1) First, remove the headlight:

– you need to turn off the power to the car. It will help to do this by removing the negative terminal from the engine;

– disconnect the electrical connectors for the headlight unit and unscrew its two mounting bolts;

– remove the grille from the radiator and unscrew the nut located at the bottom;

– slide the decorative trim towards the center and pull it out; for convenience, you can use the same screwdriver;

– now you need to remove the headlight itself. It is attached to a bracket, this fastener needs to be unscrewed with a key with a 10mm head. Did you unscrew it? Shoot;

– to remove the hydraulic corrector cylinder, you need to carefully pry its lock with a screwdriver, turn it slightly and pull it out of the headlight housing;

– Next, remove the turn signal. To do this, unscrew two more mounting bolts;

- now there is nothing stopping you from removing the old lamp and installing xenon.

2) With the old bulb removed, cut the brown (“-”) and yellow (“+”) wires. Using tools, clean them.

3) Use pliers to squeeze two brown wires with a thick wire clamp and pass the insulation to avoid short circuits.

4) Do the same with the yellow wires, only now use a regular clamp.

5) If you have headlights from the manufacturer Kirzhach, then the xenon lamp should work without any problems. In the case where Bosch headlights are installed, you will most likely have to suffer and widen the hole with a file. Just don’t get carried away, periodically try on the lamp until you get the right size, otherwise too much recess can ruin everything.

6) Using a drill with a thin bit, make a hole approximately 23mm in diameter and thread the lamp wiring through it.

7) Install the xenon in the base and secure the lamp.

8 ) We connect the “mothers”. It is important not to confuse “+” and “-”. Be careful, otherwise you can damage not only the lamps themselves, but also the ignition units!

9) We connect our lamps to the ignition units as indicated in the instructions.

10) Return the negative terminal to the motor and check how your installation went.

If you see a bright light, then everything went well! Reassemble the headlight in reverse order and you are ready to use! And don’t forget to adjust the xenon headlights, as we discussed above. Respect your fellow road users! This will help you avoid many unpleasant and dangerous situations on the road.
