Story

For the first time the name Beschastny

found in
the List of populated areas of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic according to the All-Union Census of December 17, 1926
, according to which in the village of Sasyk-Kiyat (Beschastny), the settlement is then known by this name), Ishunsky village council (in which the village was a member before inclusion in Vishnevsky [23] [24 ]) Dzhankoy district, there were 7 households, all peasants, the population was 29 people, all Armenians[10]. By a resolution of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of October 30, 1930, the Ishunsky district[25] was restored and the village, along with the village council, was included in its composition. By the resolution of the Central Executive Committee of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of January 26, 1938, the Ishunsky district was liquidated and the Krasnoperekopsky district was created with its center in the village of Armyansk[26] (according to other sources, on February 22, 1937[27]). On the kilometer map of the General Staff of the Red Army in 1941, the village is marked as Beschastnoye[28].

In 1944, after the liberation of Crimea from the Nazis, according to GKO Resolution No. 5984ss of June 2, 1944, on June 27, local Armenians were deported from Crimea to Central Asia[29]. And already on August 12, 1944, Resolution No. GOKO-6372c “On the resettlement of collective farmers to the regions of Crimea” was adopted, according to which families of collective farmers moved from the regions of the Ukrainian SSR to the region[30]. Since June 25, 1946, Beschastnoye has been part of the Crimean region of the RSFSR[31]. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR dated May 18, 1948, Beschastnoye (or Beschastny) was renamed Zelenaya Niva[32]. On April 26, 1954, the Crimean region was transferred from the RSFSR to the Ukrainian SSR[33]. According to some data, since 1964 the village has been transferred to the Vishnevsky Village Council[12], according to the reference book “Crimean Region. Administrative-territorial division as of January 1, 1968” for that year Zelenaya Niva was still listed in Ishunsky[24], and was recorded as part of Vishnevsky in the 1977 directory[34]. According to the 1989 census, 633 people lived in the village[35]. Since February 12, 1991, the village has been in the restored Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic[36], on February 26, 1992, renamed the Autonomous Republic of Crimea[37]. Since March 21, 2014 - as part of the Republic of Crimea of Russia[38].

Green Niva

The name of the settlement appears for the first time in available sources in the List of populated areas of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic according to the All-Union Census of December 17, 1926

, according to which in the Zelenaya Niva artel, Ishunsky village council of Dzhankoy district, there were 7 households, all peasants, the population was 42 people, of which 39 were Ukrainians and 3 Russians[10]. The merger with the village of Beschastnoye is not reflected in available sources.

Work on the suspension

Full tuning of the Niva-2121 is impossible without improving the properties of the suspension. Let's look at the most popular DIY Niva tuning. It includes:

  1. Installation of spacers (store-bought or home-made) between suspension elements.
  2. Replacing shock absorbers - for example, you can install Rancho shock absorbers.
  3. Installing new springs.
  4. Installation of steel boxes to strengthen the front and rear axles.

Refinement of the suspension lift during tuning of the Lada depends on the size and diameter of the wheels. The larger it is, the more significant modifications will be required.

Refinement of the Niva may also include tuning the transfer case. Problems with front and rear axle shaft play are solved by installing new components (that is, covers, bearings, flanges and shafts).

You can also strengthen the shaft supports by installing an upgraded flange with an additional oil seal and bearings in place of the factory ones. High-quality installation of the oil seal will reduce the risk of leakage.

To reduce vibration and wear of the suspension in its lower part, it is necessary to correctly align the transfer case in the horizontal and vertical plane. We perform alignment manually or use a subframe.

Tuning a VAZ-2121 with your own hands includes installing higher springs, which allows you to significantly increase ground clearance. However, in order for the ground clearance to be increased by as much as 10 cm, it is better to install a full lift kit.

In order to slightly increase the ground clearance, it is advisable to use a factory lift - a kit for Niva-2121, sold both in company stores and in car markets. Using the included instructions, you can carry out the desired tuning in just 1 day. However, there is one significant drawback: the suspension lift is produced exactly as much as the manufacturer considers necessary.

At the same time, if there is an urgent need to tailor the car to specific needs or the specifics of the road, you can make a lift kit for the Niva on your own.

You just need to prepare the following set of tools:

  • rear and front springs (the best parts on a Chevrolet Niva are 31.5 cm long and 1.57 cm thick, but these parameters can easily be changed according to the owner’s requirements);
  • rubber spacers for springs with special metal cups;
  • shock absorbers;
  • spacers for the upper ball joint (not sold in stores, so they can only be made to order);
  • brackets for rear shock absorbers;
  • washers for the Niva-21214 cup of an enlarged type with an internal diameter of 1 cm and an external diameter of 3 cm;
  • jack;
  • boards;
  • spring ties.

When choosing spacers for springs for rear shock absorbers, you don’t have to go too deep into the search and make them yourself from an ordinary metal corner. The internal diameter of the product is 13.2 mm, the external diameter is 32 mm.

In addition, during the work you must refer to the diagram (Fig. 1).

And, if all the subtleties of the technical stuffing of 2131, as well as 2121, are agreed upon and ordered, you can immediately get to work. Just a few hours of painstaking work, and the Niva tuning will be completed.

And also interesting: Do-it-yourself Niva tuning is accessible even to a beginner

This car is distinguished by its simplicity of design, easy accessibility to all components and mechanisms, as well as its increased reliability.

If you wish, you can do the tuning of the Niva yourself. To do this you will need:

  • have your own garage for work;
  • purchase the necessary tools, become familiar with the production process that should be performed;
  • consult with specialists; advice from a highly qualified specialist can protect you from possible troubles.

By completing modifications to a car on their own, a person can verify the quality of the work performed, receive great pleasure from the achieved result, and save his money.

If you have insufficient experience, you can involve a master in performing important operations, and become his assistant yourself.

In this case, high-quality work will be done at minimal cost to the family budget.

Engine modification

Most representatives of the domestic automobile industry require high-quality improvements, and Niva is no exception.
Tuning can significantly improve many parameters of an SUV, from the interior to pumping the chassis. Changing the suspension helps increase the vehicle's passing ability. You can also change the external design of the body, making it more modern and original. Many people try to increase the power of the power plant by tuning the engine.

Most often, supporters of updates turn to professionals for help, although tuning a Niva 4x4 with your own hands is quite possible. You just have to take into account that remodeling a car will require significant costs and certain skills.

The small SUV went into mass production in April 1977. Today the VAZ 2121 is a passenger car with increased cross-country ability. Available in two body types: a three-door hatchback and a five-door station wagon. It has permanent all-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission.

Two-stage transfer case with center differential lock. High cross-country ability of the car is ensured by significant ground clearance (220 mm). The wheelbase is 2.2 meters. Earlier modifications were equipped with engines based on the engine of the sixth VAZ model.

When new modifications were released, the previous engine was replaced with a more powerful four-cylinder unit producing 81.9 liters. s., having a working volume of 1.69 liters. Average fuel consumption in mixed mode is 10 l/100 km.

Tuning the VAZ 2121 engine involves improving its parameters, in particular, increasing the power of the power plant.

There are two main ways to improve the unit:

  1. Chip tuning.
  2. Mechanical modification of the engine.

For injection engines, the first option is best suited. Reflashing the electronic control unit allows you to increase engine power by 8%, reduce fuel consumption and eliminate failures at low speeds. But this will require the help of specialists, because incorrect tuning can lead to a number of problems in engine operation. The second option is possible on any SUV, which determines its popularity.

Engine tuning using mechanical modification is carried out in several stages:

  1. Carburetor modernization. Here it is necessary to replace the pump accelerator and old jets with an indicator of 2 kam.
  2. Modification of the gas distribution system by increasing the diameter of the valves and sealing them.
  3. Installation of a crankshaft with increased stroke.
  4. Replacing the piston.
  5. Increasing the cylinder diameter (boring).

A high-quality exhaust system can also increase the efficiency of the power plant by optimizing the process of air supply and exhaust gas removal. To do this, it is recommended to replace the intake and exhaust manifolds with more modern options.

Installing a turbine is the most common way to increase power. It has a fairly simple structure, and its installation does not cause much difficulty. Therefore, such a tuning solution is far from uncommon.

The VAZ-2121 suspension was quite revolutionary for the seventies - before the Niva, such technical solutions were not used in off-road vehicles.

Also interesting: Modern tuning of Niva 21213

The front suspension is independent, on wishbones, equipped with springs working in pairs and hydraulic shock absorbers. The design includes a stability stabilizer.

The rear suspension is dependent, with mounting to the rear axle beam and a Panhard rod. The suspension is provided by hydraulic shock absorbers and springs similar to those used in the front suspension.

The simplest and very justified step for those wishing to tune the Niva 2121 is to replace sets of springs and shock absorbers. The latest devices are now gas-filled, they are more reliable and handle irregularities better.

You can also recommend strengthening the shaft supports and the front and rear axles by installing special steel inserts - boxes, as well as increasing the ground clearance by using special inserts between the suspension elements.

All these measures will somewhat reduce the discomfort of driving on a bad road, slightly improve the ride and off-road qualities of the car, but they will not be able to radically change anything.

If you need really serious changes, you should think about replacing the rear suspension of the outdated Panhard system with a more modern independent design. This will not only improve the smoothness of the ride, but also significantly improve the vehicle's handling characteristics, especially on hard road surfaces.

As in the case of the suspension, a radical improvement of the engine can only be achieved by changing the unit itself. The family of VAZ engines installed on the Niva is distinguished by its unpretentiousness, sufficient reliability and relatively moderate appetite.

Carburetor models also consume low-octane gasoline without much difficulty.

The engine tuning available for the Niva 2121 should begin with replacing the ignition system with a modern electronic version. This will simplify starting the car and improve its performance, especially in cold weather.

A good option for tuning carburetor versions is also to install a modified carburetor with a larger diffuser, which will give a slight increase in power. In addition, it is justified to replace the manifolds with more modern options, and especially to improve the sealing of the cylinders.

The camshaft is also often replaced with an option that provides more power. True, such tuning should be carried out simultaneously with the installation of a new, more efficient cooling radiator and a fan with more blades. Such measures will avoid engine overheating.

If you have the means, you can also try installing an atmospheric supercharger. However, it is worth considering that on the VAZ-2121, due to the design features of the car, such measures do not seem justified.

Instead of the factory carburetor, you can install a modification of it with an enlarged diffuser called a throttle. You can also install an injection model. It is worth considering installing a new electronic ignition system.

Replacing the camshaft will increase the car's power, but will also increase the likelihood of overheating. To prevent this from happening, you can install a radiator with a larger working surface.

Also interesting: Chevrolet Niva fan does not turn on

You can also increase the diameter of the valves and strengthen the sealing, which will give an additional 10% of power. Installing a turbine further increases the power of the power unit. Take the time to replace the standard intake and exhaust manifolds with advanced modifications.
