Reviews and ratings of Tunga Nordway tires

Advantages: Price and quality - even excellent for the money.

Comment: I took two, for the front! I drove it in the winter, everything is fine, in taxi mode! I’ll take two more! The main thing is that the quality remains!

Advantages: Inexpensive, soft, quite wear-resistant

Comment: I use it on a work machine. Despite comparisons with Goodyear, it is MUCH noisier!! But all this is forgiven for handling on different surfaces. The use interval is from 0 to -40 without any complaints for this price. My studs quickly fell out at 15,000 (seasonal mileage), and at 30,000 the cord came out. Overall, I’m happy with the tires, safety on the road is ensured - this is the main thing, and everyone can deal with the noise themselves.

Advantages: soft. not too noisy. cheap

Disadvantages: weak to use. slipping when starting

Comment: I drove 35,000 on them. In the first season, about 10-15% of the studs fell off. When starting off, they slip VERY often. The snow is shoveled worse than average, but no worse than a 500 horn. After 35,000, the cords broke on all 4 wheels. I also compare it with a tunga, but I don’t remember the model. those rowing was much better.

Advantages: in the snow, after a snowfall, rowing is excellent.

Disadvantages: fuel consumption +2 liters compared to previous Gislavedas. They don't hold up well. They brake poorly during emergency braking.

Comment: on Gislavved it was 9.3 on average, on Tung 11.5. and if in traffic jams then 13.5 14. Lada Granta car with 116 engine. Previously, on Gislaveda 14 14.5 it turned out with a slipper on the floor in the city. but if you feel sick and drive calmly then 9.3. In the summer, a little less than 8 liters comes out. it's about the city if anything. There are no spikes in the middle, so they only hold at low speeds. I drove onto an icy track. on the Gislavedas the turn took place at half a mile and I didn’t get carried away. on a tunga you have to slow down to 20-30, if it reaches half a mile then it blows away. poor grip on the road, high fuel consumption. I took them when I was 15. The gislaveds wore out, the thorns fell out and also stopped holding. I've had the studs in place for two years, but they're only useful at low speeds. On my grant, on an ice track, I also drifted on a tung - such a grip.

Advantages: Inexpensive No noise The spikes fit well

Comment: With a daily run from October to April of 60-100 km in mixed mode, they showed their best performance. didn't lose a single thorn. All complaints about excessive noise can be ignored - they are no more noisy than others.

Advantages: Inexpensive. The pattern is a copy of goodyear ultra grip 500. Rows quite well, the studs are stable.

Disadvantages: A little crooked initially, difficult to balance (this is already a common thing for my size). It’s noisy, but that’s understandable (in winter it’s a dubious drawback, but it’s important for some).

Comment: I bought it the other day in size 235/75/15. I had my doubts, read the rather reserved reviews and decided to buy it anyway. They hung a bunch of weights (with new disks). All rubber slightly beats like a figure eight without load (on the machine). Judging by the reviews, I’m not the only one who was so lucky. Made in Russia (cordiant). The drawing is copied from goodyear ultra grip 500, there is hope that the characteristics will not let you down. upd, added a little to the review above. Traveled almost all winter. Combat tests are proceeding quite confidently. Rows well through mud and virgin soil. The thorns look all intact (but I’m not a doctor). I think it deserves a solid four for the price-quality and characteristics of “good inexpensive off-road studded tires.”

Advantages: They are no different when driving on the move from the goodyear ultragrip 500.

Disadvantages: Can’t buy in size 16″

Comment: My father came to me on the WV Transporter T4 and stayed until there was ice. The money was 10,000 rubles. on hands. We found something on the Internet for 12,000 rubles, but we have to wait a few days, it’s a seasonal emergency. We went to the store for an abum and there we saw these 15″ tires in real life. Firstly, their design is painfully familiar and dear to the heart - the old, proven goodyear ultragrip 500. Secondly, the rubber composition is just right. It is enough to put your fingers into it and everything is immediately clear. Thirdly, it cost us 10,000 rubles for 4 wheels. In the tire shop they didn’t put more than 25 grams on a single wheel. My father even drove to Lugansk on them, where the roads are not cleared now - the KING of the roads on these tires. A 2.5 liter diesel engine on the front axle rows and does not slide off the road, and also brakes excellently.

Advantages: It handles great in mud, snow and slush!

Disadvantages: Not suitable for icy conditions.

Comment: I bought Tunga Nordway tires (Velcro) in December 2014, I’ve been driving a VAZ 2107 work car for the 3rd year. The next arrivals of this tire were terrible, like plastic in the cold, my friend liked how it behaved on my road and decided to take it for himself the same one, but changed my mind when I came to buy it in 2015. Mine doesn’t stiffen in the cold, it’s soft, the tread bends well with your fingers at a frost of -25. It doesn’t make much noise, although it’s difficult to call a Lada a silent car))) As for the snowy road or mud, I’m happy, despite the fact that I have rear-wheel drive and the trunk is empty in most cases. In heavy snowfalls with a snow-covered road, if the car is loaded with people or cargo, I can drive 90 km/h without any problems, confidently brake, slow down and take turns without fear of skidding (40-60 km/h depending on which turn), if the car is empty, then in principle, you can drive straight ahead with relative confidence and brake in the same way, but when turning, you need to be more careful, because after all, it is rear-wheel drive. As for the ice, it’s terrible, it just grinds on the spot, and when braking it doesn’t stop, maybe if there were spikes something would change, loaded on ice it behaves better, but not that. Or maybe I'm used to my SUV and electronics. If you don't drive on ice, these are excellent tires.

Advantages: Price = quality

Disadvantages: No production date(

Advantages: Low price, handles bumps smoothly, quite suitable for driving around the city, countryside, from city to village and from village to city in winter; What a bad girl is rowing in the snow and porridge.

Disadvantages: Large loads when balancing, strong low-frequency rumble on asphalt, heavy tire weight, tendency to slide sideways, mediocre grip on ice, average directional stability, poor roll-up, possible hereditary sores of Polar Cordiant - fragile sidewall and air etching through the studs.

Comment: Before purchasing these tires, I thought that Zhiguli cars were noisy enough to not pay attention to tire noise. It turned out that it was not enough. In general, normal tires for their price, if you drive close or for a short time, the noise is tiring), because of the noise, I even changed the tires to different ones in the middle of winter. By the way, the Gudik-500, from which the pattern was allegedly licked, has a similar tread only in outline, the cutting of the lamellas is significantly different and, of course, the composition is different.

Winter tires "Tunga": customer reviews

Russian winter is unpredictable, and every car owner knows that road safety depends on tires. Buying quality tires at an affordable price is a common problem for all vehicle drivers. There is an opinion that there are no good rubber manufacturers in Russia, and people prefer to overpay and buy an expensive imported product.

Today we decided to create an article aimed at studying Tunga winter studded tires. Reviews from car owners, information about the manufacturer and model range are presented in the further contents of this publication.

Tunga C-140 spike - cheap and cheerful

I couldn’t afford to buy expensive winter tires for my 25-year-old Ford, so I decided to pay attention to our Russian manufacturer. I wanted to take Cordiants, but I talked to the seller and he convinced me to try Tunga. This is also a Russian brand. In general, there are some tire models from these manufacturers that are 100 percent similar (Cordiant Sport and Tunga Zodiac, for example).

In general, I took the Tunga C-140 model for the winter, it cost 1,500 rubles per cylinder in the 13th radius. It's unlikely to be found cheaper. I expected that the tires would harden in cold weather, but this did not happen, as it turned out - in the minus, the rubber remains soft, and this is already an achievement for such a cheap tire. Tread photo:

This model is produced in a single standard size - 175/70/R13

I read the reviews and saw that people were complaining about the lack of normal sizes R14 and R15; for its little money, the Tunga shows good stability on winter roads. Of course, there are some downsides, and I think you can guess them right away)) Winter 2020 will be the second one, I really liked the tires the first season.

Noise - it doesn’t just make noise, it screams, even with the radio turned on loudly, the noise is decent.

However, the noise is not critical for me, the most important thing is that the tire holds the car on the winter road. I will describe how the tire performed in various areas.

  • Wet asphalt is a C grade, but the studs do not allow for perfect braking.
  • Packed snow - a solid A, confident grip, good braking.
  • Snow porridge - it drains water well, doesn’t drag, rows with a four-wheeler.
  • Ice is a B minus, there is confidence on the road, but the braking distance will be longer than that of more expensive imported tires. But for such a price, the stability on ice is not bad.

I repeat, the tires don’t harden even at -20, they’re soft, which means they’re not too bad for winter. The studs fall out within normal limits, not to mention, after the first season the tire became bald.

In terms of comfort, the Tunge can be given a C grade, but in terms of grip properties, for me personally, it’s a solid four. An excellent option for winter studded tires for domestic cars on R13 wheels - low price, good stability and braking, and handles loose and deep snow well. I expected the tires to not live up to my expectations, but I was wrong. You can take it.

Manufacturer

The brand is owned by the largest domestic tire holding Sibur - Russian Tires. The company manufactures in Russia and specifically for Russia. Winter tires "Tunga", reviews of which will be presented in the content of this article, are intended for use in any region of our vast country.

The line includes only two types of tires for the summer season and one for all-season use. Tunga is a brand created primarily for winter. According to the manufacturer, the tires are produced in accordance with current safety standards and meet all car owners’ requirements for tire quality.

Technology

The Russian holding has thoroughly reviewed the production of tires and created a brand that is ideally suited to any climatic conditions of the winter season. The rubber composition is optimized for all regions, and this is the main advantage of Tunga winter tires. Reviews from car owners confirm that the tire retains its elasticity and softness even in severe frosts. And this means ideal grip on the road, ease of driving, and therefore traffic safety for the owner of this vehicle and for other road users.

Production technology

The Russian holding developed a new rubber production technology, eventually founding the brand. It is ideal for use in the changing climatic conditions of the winter season. The optimized rubber composition used in production is the main advantage of Tunga tires. In reviews, car owners note that the tires remain soft and elastic even in severe frosts, which ensures ease of driving, traction on the road and, accordingly, safety of movement for both the driver and other road users.

Computer modeling allows you to create the most effective and visually attractive tread pattern.

Tunga Extreme Contact

This tire has become the most popular in the entire line presented by the brand. “Extreme Contact” was created for drivers who value a comfortable ride behind the wheel in any weather conditions and who value the safety of themselves and other road users. These tubeless, studded winter tires have a directional tread pattern, which allows for excellent traction and grip on the road surface typical of the Russian winter. “Tunga Extreme Contact” is a rubber that is endowed with excellent properties for driving in icy conditions and the presence of snow porridge on the road.

The protector is made of a wide layer of material, the main component of which is real Malaysian rubber. The breaker is three-layer, which guarantees the stability of the wheels on the road. This type of breaker also gives the tire durability. It consists of two layers: a metal cord and a shielding layer, which protects the tire from all kinds of deformations even during strong impacts, which is not uncommon on Russian roads.

Winter tires "Tunga Extreme Contact": reviews

Car enthusiasts, of course, first noted the cost of tires. Winter tires for 13 Tunga cars cost no more than 1,500 rubles. Reviews say that the “Extreme Contact” model can be purchased by owners of cars equipped with tires of 13, 14 and 15 diameters, and the maximum price will not exceed 2,600 rubles.

Drivers also noted an acceptable noise level. They write that for a winter tire it is quite quiet, since the rubber does not “tan” in the cold. It was noted that both in icy conditions and when there is a mess of wet snow on the road, the Tunga Extreme winter tires behave predictably.

Reviews from car owners claim that these tires will perform better in city conditions, but not on the highway. They write that at a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour, the car begins to “throw” to the sides. Among the disadvantages, car owners noted the poor quality of the factory studs. Many drivers have lost more than half of their studs after just ten thousand kilometers. Those that remained in place were worn out.

Reviews of winter tires "Tunga Extreme Contact"

First of all, car owners in reviews note the affordable price: a set of Tunga Extreme winter tires costs no more than 15 thousand rubles. You can select products for cars with tires of 13, 14 and 15 diameters, and the cost will not exceed 2,600 rubles.

Drivers in reviews of Tunga Extreme tires note an acceptable noise level: for winter tires it is very low due to the fact that the tire does not tan at subzero temperatures. Tunga winter tires behave predictably. This is typical both when there is ice and when there is a mixture of wet snow on the highway.

Car owners in reviews of Tunga tires write that the tires perform well in urban conditions, but a little worse on the highway. At speeds above 100 km/h the car begins to skid to the side. Among the disadvantages, car owners noted the low quality of the factory studs. After 10 thousand kilometers, half of the studs are lost, and the remaining ones wear out almost completely.

Tunga C-140

This is a winter, tubeless, radial type tire. In order to ensure safe driving, minimize hydroplaning and increase traction, the tread pattern was divided by the manufacturer into semi-open grooves of variable width and direction. Their width gradually increases towards the edges of the treadmill from the center, and they turn into transverse grooves located in the shoulder area. A large number of diverse slats allows you to drive a car on a snow-covered road. The tread pattern allowed the use of anti-skid studs.

The studs are offset, so when driving on asphalt the noise level will increase slightly. The rubber composition of the tire is multifunctional: the tires do not “tan” even in severe frosts, and retain their shape and elasticity when the temperature rises.

The tread is multifunctional; it has a directional pattern, divided along four longitudinal grooves, and this serves for excellent drainage of water from under the wheels. A solid rib with varying width, located in the center of the tread, allows for a more visible contact patch, which improves traction. The checkers, arranged in two figured rows, are elongated transversely.

Tires Tunga C-140

Tubeless winter tires of radial type. Grooves with variable directions and widths divide the tire tread pattern. This ensures safe movement, high traction and minimizes the risk of aquaplaning. In the direction from the center of the tire to the edges, the width of the grooves gradually increases: they turn into transverse grooves located in the shoulder area. Driving a car on a snowy road is made easier by a large number of different slats. The original tread pattern allows the use of special anti-slip studs.

The noise level when driving on clean asphalt increases slightly due to the offset location of the studs. The tires are made of rubber of a special composition that does not harden at low temperatures, and also retains its elasticity and shape at high temperatures.

The directional tread pattern is divided along four grooves, which allows water to be drained from the contact patch. In the center of the tread there is a solid rib with varying width, which improves traction thanks to a visible contact patch.

Winter tires "Tunga S-140": reviews

Car owners indicate in their reviews that the Tunga-140 winter tires make their way through the snow like a tank, row perfectly, and do not slip. She also performed excellently in icy conditions. Noisiness is rated four out of five. Car owners write that comfort in the vehicle interior is ensured in the same way as when using more expensive tires. The tires are soft and do not lose elasticity in severe frosts on an unheated car.

Reviews of the Tunga winter tires for this model are impressive; eight out of ten car owners recommend it. The comments noted that control over the vehicle is not lost, even in the presence of sharp turns it does not skid.

They note the cost of tires, on average 1,700 rubles. per tire. Drivers write that they did not expect to buy good quality tires for that kind of money, they mostly bought them “for a season of riding,” but were surprised that they last much longer and are pleasing with their quality.

They also responded very well to the spikes. When a new wheel is properly run-in, no more than 20% of the studs are lost, and this is the norm. Those who remain are not going anywhere anymore, having qualitatively fallen into place.

Reviews of Tunga S-140 tires

On the Internet, reviews about Tunga S-140 winter tires can be found in huge quantities. If we evaluate passable properties, then this model is the best among all others proposed. The tires cope well with small snowdrifts. Also, excellent road grip is maintained when driving on icy surfaces. The noise level is not the best, but acceptable. Many are ready to put up with this, because in return they offer so many necessary properties. Tires provide comfortable, and most importantly, safe driving in any weather conditions. Tires do not freeze even at very low air temperatures.

Finding positive reviews about Tunga winter tires is not a problem at the moment. This already says a lot. The tires perform well not only when driving in a straight line, but also on winding roads, as well as when making sharp maneuvers.

Also, motorists often note that the cost of tires is very low. On average, one copy costs about 1,700 rubles. Of course, this is an excellent indicator. After all, for such a price, not every manufacturer is ready to offer high-quality tires that will meet the requirements of all drivers.

Also, when leaving reviews of the Tunga S-140 winter tires, motorists note that the studs fit well in their places. After a long period of time, many only lost about 20% of their spines, which is pretty good. However, in order for this to happen, it is necessary to break in the wheels.

Tunga Master

This tire will be loved by everyone who prefers to drive a car at low speeds - up to one hundred kilometers per hour, since at higher speeds the clarity of control may be lost - as noted in the comments about the model. What does the manufacturer say?

The tread pattern is directional, V-shaped. The grooves are wide, arched, provide high-quality vehicle control on a road covered with slushy snow, and eliminate the effect of aquaplaning. The unique Tunga winter tire breaker protects against various types of damage. Consumer reviews confirm that no swelling (hernias) are detected during operation, and the tire is not deformed.

Of the minuses, they noted a quick imbalance. They also write that the studs are not of the highest quality, but quite good for a 14-diameter wheel (the only size in which the model is produced), costing from 1,700 to 2,100 rubles, depending on the supplier.

Novel

Advantages

The price is low, the snow moves well, and it's ok on ice too.

Flaws

It does not hold the car if on the highway one side of the car gets into snow slush. The noise from 40 km/h is something)

A comment

There was no money for anything else, so I took these tires. In principle, it’s normal in winter, but there are disadvantages!

Eugene

Advantages

Flaws

The road does not hold up in any condition; the spikes have all worn off by spring.

Advantages

Excellent cross-country ability! This tread pattern allows you to pass any surface. They brake well on ice and hold the road well. Very pleased with the purchase, 2 winter seasons - and all the spikes are in place. Wear is minimal.

Flaws

The noise starts at 90 km/h, but for a studded car this is the norm.

Ildar

Advantages

Really good tires for surfaces: ice/slush/snow. Takes out from any “fifth point”. The spikes hold on confidently, if you don’t pull them away from traffic lights and don’t brake to the floor. For this money, quite high quality tires.

Flaws

I replaced the rear wheel hubs because of these tires, because... I thought they were the ones making the noise. In fact, the tires hum (only on asphalt!). It doesn’t even hum, but howls at 60+ km/h. Very noisy on asphalt, especially if the car is quiet. If your foreign car is all noisy, then you can take it. If it’s a basin, or another similar option, then see for yourself.

A comment

Music is hard to hear with these tires)

Vladimir

Advantages

Asphalt Management. Fearlessness towards ruts and potholes. The spikes do not wear out.

Flaws

Too noisy. Management of rolled snow, porridge. It takes turns with uncertainty.

A comment

Previously, I had the opportunity to drive Nokian Nordman 5, Gisloved NF 3, Gisloved Nord Frost 200. The difference between them and the tunga is colossal. I will not recommend this tires to anyone. It has one plus and at the same time one minus - these are indestructible thorns. During the winter of 2017-2018, I drove almost 15,000 km, mostly on dry asphalt in a Renault Sandero 2012, a service car. At first I just spat because of the roar of the spikes, then I started deliberately grinding on the asphalt so that the spikes would fly to hell, but no. I lost three studs on the front wheels in 4 months of continuous driving! Regarding handling, I can say this: you can drive without sudden movements or freaks, but I can’t call it safe. The noise of the spikes is simply freezing, no rubber can compare with this horror! I will never buy one of these and I won’t recommend it to you, add a couple of thousand rubles, but get decent tires, you won’t regret it!
