If we consider changes to the brake system, the simplest tuning option is to replace the standard brake discs with larger ones. In this case, when installing R14 wheels instead of standard R13, no modifications will be required.
Foreign-made brake pads can be installed together with the discs. Discs on the Lada-Granta liftback can be installed, for example, by Brembo (article: 09.8903.75), and pads - by Fiat (article: 13.0460–2813.2).

Appearance
Exterior tuning is quite diverse and depends only on the imagination and financial capabilities of the car owner. To change the appearance, you can install or replace the following elements:
- roof rails These products are to some extent capable of correcting some errors in the control system. They differ in both weight and degree of aerodynamics. Installing such elements gives the car an individual character;

A lot of attention is paid to tuning the interior, since this is where the owner and passengers spend most of the time.
Steering wheel cover
One of the first interior elements to be changed is the steering wheel. Some owners change it to a sports one with a smaller diameter. However, you need to take into account that driving a car becomes not very comfortable. Therefore, this option for upgrading the steering wheel is not for everyone. In addition, the steering wheel can be covered with leather to make it attractive, but to get a quality result you will have to visit a specialized service. You can also resort to a simpler option - installing a ready-made cover. The product is quite simply mounted, tightened with threads, and, if necessary, removed without any problems. When selecting a cover, you should take into account the overall design of the Lada-Grant liftback interior.
Armrest
Another interior element that can be improved during the tuning process is the armrest. The choice of this part today is quite diverse, but since such products are mainly made in China, the use of such a product can lead to the most negative impressions. The fact is that the body of the armrests is made of plastic, which cracks when exposed to the sun. The fastening of the part also leaves much to be desired. When opening and closing, a creak appears, the objects inside make a rather loud ringing sound, which also does not bring any pleasure. Despite many shortcomings, Chinese armrests can be modified if desired, eliminating the negative aspects. To do this, the internal space is lined with dense foam rubber, and the outside of the product is sheathed with any finishing material (fabric, leather, Alcantara, etc.).
Backlight
The interior lighting of the Granta liftback looks rather weak. There are several ways to improve the situation, but the most common is to install LED elements. To do this, the standard interior lamp is dismantled and the diffuser is removed. For illumination, purchase an LED strip with 18 elements, divide it into 3 equal parts and mount it with double-sided tape to the inside of the lampshade. Power is supplied to the tape from the wires connected to the lampshade, taking into account the polarity.
After upgrading the lighting, it is recommended to check the wiring with a multimeter for short circuits and, if the latter is detected, the fault should be repaired.
Torpedo and instrument panel
One of the interior elements that sets the overall aesthetics of the interior is the dashboard. Initially, this detail was made in gray shades, which clearly does not add beauty to the interior. If desired, the panel can be modified to make it more attractive. The following list of tools and materials will be needed:
- dye;
- primer on plastic;
- solvent;
- acrylic lacquer;
- compressor.
Working on improving the engine and accelerator
The first thing you need to pay attention to is engine chip tuning.
The standard setting of the electronic unit microcircuit is designed for optimal parameters for engine running-in. Subsequently, the chip is removed from the block and reconfigured. You can do this yourself only if you have some experience and knowledge of the basics of electronics. The average driver cannot cope with this work, so engine chip tuning is carried out in specialized auto repair shops. A simple “change” of the microcircuit allows you to increase engine power by a quarter. At the same time, internal wear of parts will be reduced by almost half.
The second point that drivers will not ignore concerns the accelerator pedal. Initially, the car reacts poorly to pressing the pedal: in order to achieve high speeds, the pedal must simply be pressed into the shelf. This can be avoided by making certain changes to the intake system, tightening the throttle cable and adjusting the camshaft.
Chassis tuning
Constantly subject to tuning. The fact is that the Granta’s suspension turned out to be soft, designed, rather, for a comfortable ride on smooth roads. Alas, in reality there are no such roads, so improvements are needed for the rear suspension of the Granta with your own hands.
This can be done simply: cut off one coil of the spring. The car will lose its comfort, but the additional rigidity will give it stability on the road. The front suspension can be seen using shock absorbers from the Lada Kalina. They are slightly lower, so the car will have a lower stance.
