Starline a9 how to enable autostart from key fob

Keychain components and diagram

Both the main and additional remote controls operate in the same radio frequency - 433.92 MHz. But, at the same time, they are powered by different types of elements:

  • main one - from AAA battery;
  • additional - from a lithium battery.

Batteries require timely replacement if the car owner wants the device to function correctly. In addition, it is highly recommended not to allow the internal elements to get wet. If this does happen, you need to disassemble the key fob as quickly as possible and dry it.

The manufacturer allows the possibility of purchasing a spare key fob for the W808 model. Such a device is useful in case the service button is pressed, as evidenced by the appearance of the zz and save symbols on the screen.

Alarm buttons

Each key fob has a different number of buttons that are used to program and control Starline A9 functions. In the case of the main device, there are three such keys and they are located on the side, since the entire front panel is occupied by the screen.

Three types of clicks are used for control:

  1. short-term, no more than half a second;
  2. long-term, from three to six seconds;
  3. consecutive two buttons.

Each of the keys or their combinations has its own purpose. So, the first one is responsible for:

  • How to bind and reprogram an alarm key fob with your own hands
  • turning on the security mode through a short press;
  • turning on or off the engine in auto winding mode through long-term exposure;
  • activation of the security mode while the engine is running through a long press;
  • search for a car in the parking lot by sequentially pressing the second key;
  • activation of the “panic” mode through a long sequential press with the second key.

The second key controls:

  • confirmation of the cursor selection of the command designation on the display through a short press;
  • opening the trunk through long-term exposure.

Using the third key:

  • move the display across the screen to select the desired picture using short presses;
  • turn off the sound notification of the key fob using a short-term impact;
  • activate the remote control function menu through a long press;
  • program button number 1 after a long six-second press;
  • control the illumination of the key fob by pressing sequentially with the first key;
  • set the timer in sequence with the second key by pressing.

For control via an additional key fob, there are four buttons on the front panel of the latter. This is due to the lack of a display to display function icons.

The first key of the additional remote control is designed to execute commands such as:

  • activation and deactivation of the security mode by a short press;
  • management of the third additional channel through long-term influence;
  • activation of the “panic” mode by pressing the second key together;
  • control of the operation of the shock sensor by pressing together with the third button;
  • turning on the service mode through a short press together with the fourth key.

Thanks to the second key it is possible:

  • start or stop the engine remotely with a short press;
  • extend engine operating intervals through long-term exposure;
  • activate the security system when the internal combustion engine is running through a long press;
  • activate autostart based on ambient temperature by pressing the third button in sequence;
  • activate the daily auto-start of the engine at a specified time through a joint action with the fourth key.

Other buttons on the additional key fob are provided to perform the following functions:

  • searching for a vehicle in a parking lot by briefly pressing the third key;
  • opening the trunk by long pressing button number three;
  • silent arming and disabling of security through a short press on button number four;
  • management of the second additional channel by long pressing button 4;
  • activating the anti-robbery mode by pressing the third and fourth buttons together;
  • entering programmed parameters into the remote control memory by sequentially pressing the two named keys.

It is worth noting that the radius of influence of the additional control panel is only 15 meters.

Configuring the system using the cursor method

Car alarms support several modes, to program some of which you can use the cursor method. Activation of this method is carried out by pressing two buttons at once: the first continues until the corresponding sound signal, the second confirms activation. The icon of the enabled function appears on the liquid crystal display of the main key fob. Moving from one character to another is done using the control buttons. You can activate a specific option by pressing two keys.

The cursor method allows you to activate the following functions of the StarLine A93 car alarm:

  • silent protection mode;
  • locking and unlocking doors;
  • anti-robbery;
  • third party service mode;
  • activation and deactivation of the turbo timer and others.

Key fob programming

After connecting all the alarm elements and linking the key fobs themselves to the on-board network, the firmware programming begins. To flash Starline A9 control panels, you need to perform the following steps step by step.

  • The first step is to turn on the vehicle's ignition.
  • Then, press the Jack button exactly six times.
  • Turn off the ignition again and wait for the alarm siren to sound six times, as well as six flashes of the standard LED on the dashboard, which indicates that the system can now be programmed.
  • Next, configure each function separately, selecting the one you need using the Valet button - I press it as many times as the function number is indicated in the table from the instructions. During each press, the siren sounds briefly, and during every fifth press, it sounds for a long time.
  • Within 10 seconds, using the first or second keys of the control panel, the owner selects the necessary parameters of customizable functions using long or short presses. Each successful operation is confirmed by sound and light signals.
  • The value of each function must be written down separately - you can move on to the next operation only after completing the previous one.
  • Having completed setting up all functions, exit the recording mode by turning off the car’s ignition and waiting until the anti-theft system returns to its normal state automatically within a minute of inactivity. Finally, the side lights will flash five times.

Sometimes, 2 keychains are not enough. Car enthusiasts often buy another one with feedback. Such a new remote control can be registered in the system memory using the same manipulations described above. More details in the video.

StarLine A9 has a popular Chinese analogue from KGB and, accordingly, the key fob from the former is suitable for the latter. To link the Starline remote control to the KGB FX-5, you need to perform the same manipulations as for the standard one.

User manual

The StarLine car alarm comes complete with instructions that explain in detail the principle of its operation and the installation process. Installation, configuration and subsequent operation of the security system can be carried out by the car owner either on his own or with the involvement of specialists from auto repair shops.

The mounting locations for system elements are selected before installing the StarLine car alarm. The control unit is best placed behind the dashboard or front seats. The siren is installed in a place protected from moisture - the engine compartment is considered the best option. The antenna is located at a distance from the wiring and metal elements of the car.

The impact sensor is mounted in the central part of the cabin due to the fact that its operating principle is based on reading the impact on the body at the same distance from all sides.

It is advisable to place the panic button under the hood at the maximum distance from heat sources. Such elements are usually attached to the inner surface of the car wing.

The LED is located on the center console. This situation warns intruders in advance that the car is equipped with a car alarm with auto start StarLine A93.

All elements of the security complex are connected only when protected mode is activated. After placing the parts and setting up the alarm, grounding is carried out and power is supplied. The correct installation and operation of the StarLine car alarm is checked.

Due to the high sensitivity of the sensors, the alarm may trigger false alarms. This reaction can be eliminated by recalibrating the system.

Setting up the key fob

Starline A9 remote controls make it possible to remotely configure the operation of the anti-theft system. With their help, they turn on and off the security mode, open and lock doors and trunks. They allow automatic engine starting. All remote control settings are simple enough to program them yourself, using the instructions from the manufacturer, illustrated with photos of the elements.

How to set the time on a Starline A9 key fob

  • hold down the third button of the main key fob and wait until a double melodic sound appears and the time indicator flashes;
  • set the hour readings using buttons one and two - the first of them is responsible for increasing, and the second for decreasing, and a quick change occurs by holding down the key;
  • to go to setting the minutes, briefly press the third key;
  • The minutes are set according to the same algorithm as the hours;
  • at the end, press the third button again until the remote control signal sounds.

Immediately after setting the time, you can proceed to activating the engine autostart parameters.

How to turn on the sound on the alarm key fob

To activate the car security mode with a siren, you must first turn off the ignition and lock the doors and trunk. The parking brake must be set to working mode. Arming is performed by pressing button number 1.

How to program a key fob for auto start

Using the Starline A9 system key fobs, it is possible to automatically start the car engine using a timer, alarm clock or ambient temperature. If the vehicle is driven using a manual gearbox, the first step is to engage the program neutral. This is done like this:

  • Controlling the StarLine alarm siren using a key fob
  • the car is parked without turning off the engine;
  • The gear lever is set to neutral and the parking brake is pulled;
  • the ignition is turned off and the key is removed from the lock;
  • when the internal combustion engine continues to operate, they leave the vehicle interior and within two dozen seconds activate the security system with the first button of the remote control, after which the engine stops if the turbo timer mode is not turned on.
  1. selecting an icon with the designation of the car plant on the LCD display with the third button of the main key fob and activating it using the second key;
  2. long-term impact on the first key.

If the launch is successful, the car owner will be able to observe a triple flash of the side headlights and hear the triple sound of a siren combined with a melodic signal from the key fob. The remote control display will show an icon of the engine being turned on, along with a countdown of the time until it stops.

The number of automatic starts of the internal combustion engine using the anti-theft system is limited to four per cycle. With each subsequent one, the duration of the starter cranking increases by the programmed time. If the engine still does not start, the car owner will be warned by a sound signal and the letters SP.

In addition to a one-time car plant, the following are possible:

  • regular start using a timer once a day;
  • launch based on temperature sensor data;
  • triggered by the built-in alarm clock.

To enable regular start by timer, use the key fob display by selecting the desired menu item after setting the time. The function automatically starts repeating every day. This means that if the indicator is set to 10 am, the engine will start every morning at this time. The operation of the mode will be indicated by an icon on the screen. If the startup fails, autorun replay is automatically disabled.

In cold climates, auto-heating of the engine is often used when a certain minimum temperature is reached. The car owner can choose among 4 threshold values: -5, -10, -15 and -20. They are selected using the menu on the screen, after which the corresponding icon appears. The number of launches per day cannot exceed twelve, and between each there must be a pause of at least an hour. As in the previous case, the replay is canceled if the launch fails.

To automatically wind an alarm, the first thing after setting the clock is to set the time when it should sound. When starting, only full tens of minutes are taken into account: that is, if the current time is 9:19 am and the alarm clock is set at 9:23, then the automatic start will work only after ten minutes.

You can turn off the engine started by one of the methods by long pressing the second button. You can see the details of the settings in the instructions.

How to view engine temperature on key fob

The engine temperature is checked using the remote control by pressing the second button twice.

How to set up the Starline A9 key fob to open and close doors

The alarm closes the car doors automatically when armed. In addition, the vehicle owner can install two-phase unlocking and locking using a third additional channel. To do this, function 10 is programmed on the key fob. The driver's door will be unlocked with the first button, and the rest - with the second.

How to remove when the check light is on

The CHEK icon on the remote control indicates that the service button was accidentally pressed. To correct this, you need to select the adjacent icon with a wrench with the cursor and press the second key on it. The check will stop lighting.

How to open the trunk using the remote control

The second button on the control panel is responsible for opening the trunk, which is pressed for three seconds. On the additional key fob, a third key is used for this purpose, which controls the first channel.

How to reset the key fob

In some cases, the car owner has to reprogram the Starline A9 remotes due to errors in the settings or changes in the operation of system elements. To reflash the device, you must first turn on the car's ignition. After this, press the service button six times and press the first and second keys of the main remote control together. Or the third and fourth - additional. After waiting for the sound signal, release the buttons, turn off the ignition and begin recording the codes.

Resetting the key fob to factory settings

Sometimes the system settings get lost, which leads to incorrect operation. In this case, they can be reset. To reset the settings to factory defaults, you must perform the following steps:

  • the car ignition is turned on;
  • Press the Valet button 10 times;
  • turn off the ignition and wait for a tenfold sound signal from the siren;
  • press the service key once and wait for a single siren signal;
  • Press the first button on the main key fob.

If the procedure is completed correctly, the siren sounds briefly, after which you can exit the settings mode and reactivate the necessary functions.

Some tips for proper use

Legislative acts of most countries of the world classify a car as a vehicle that poses an increased danger to others. The driver, when leaving his car, must ensure that unauthorized movement of the car is inadmissible, as well as exclude the possibility of using it without the owner’s permission. To ensure the correct use of the Starline car alarm, you should carefully read some of the rules for its operation for remote engine start.

  • If it is assumed that remote or automatic engine starting will be used, the car must be left in open areas with the possibility of ventilation;
  • You can leave the car only after turning on the handbrake, which should reliably secure the car from the storage location;
  • When parked, the gear shift lever must be in the neutral position, regardless of the design of the mechanism;
  • For cars with manual transmission, before using automatic engine start, you should perform a preparation function called “soft neutral”;
  • It is not allowed to automatically start the engine without the presence of the driver if someone or something is in front of or behind the car;
  • Control key fobs should not be allowed to reach children or other persons who do not know how to use such a security system;
  • For cars with manual transmission, it is strictly forbidden to start the engine when the car is out of sight.

Before you begin using the automatic start system for the power unit, several conditions must first be met:

  • The car must only be in technically sound condition;
  • Ensure the required amount of fuel in the tank, oil and coolant levels in the engine systems;
  • Select the desired parameter for the heating system of the car, windows and other limits of the climate control system;
  • Ensure air circulation in the cabin so that it quickly warms up or cools down.[/list

] Starline car alarm is capable of providing the functions assigned to it in automatic mode, or after sending control commands from an electronic key or key fob. Manufacturers of these security devices do not recommend installing the alarm yourself. The slightest mistake during such an installation can negate all the positive qualities inherent in the product.

The car security systems of this company have proven to be reliable and efficient products in operation. Step-by-step operating instructions for StarLine A6, A8 and A9 car alarms will help owners learn how to use them correctly. Familiarize yourself with it and use it for a long period without damaging your car.

StarLine A9 key fob repair

The situation when the alarm remote control does not work or does not respond to a signal is not so rare. Only some of the reasons for this lie in the key fobs themselves. We are talking about problems with the batteries or damage. In the first option, it will be enough to replace the battery or lithium battery. As for the second case, to eliminate this breakdown you will need to disassemble the device.

Sometimes car owners are faced with a situation where the key fob does not open the door or does not see the car. Most often, the reason for this lies in incorrect installation of system elements or damage to communication wires. The problem may also be radio interference. The latter is evidenced by a situation where there is no feedback. To eliminate it, you need to move the antenna away from the source of interference.

In some cases, the only way to unblock the key fobs is to reboot them. But if even after this there is no result, then it makes sense to show the device to a specialist.

Will the Starline A9 key fob fit A8 and A6?

Due to minimal differences in design and functionality, remote controls for Starline A9 are highly compatible with Starline A8 and A6 car alarms. To connect them, there is no need for additional complex reprogramming - just register them in memory. Moreover, it is possible to simultaneously register the A9 remote control with the original key fobs of these alarms.

The basic instructions included with the Starline A9 alarm contain all the information about its connection and operation. The instructions also tell you how to set it up. Tips that are based on reviews will be listed here. It will also show you how to quickly set up the main key fob to start using any of the options. You can connect an alarm with or without auto start, and also use or not use a lock. In all cases, there will be several options. By the way, we are talking about one model here - Starline Twage A9, and not A9 Dialog.

Starline alarm system: auto start from key fob and automatically

The Starline autostart system provides an option for intelligent engine start, when the alarm system independently selects a frequency for communication between the main unit in the car and the key fob.

Thanks to such features, intercepting a security system signal is almost impossible. This is especially important in urban environments and conditions with high levels of radio interference.

Methods for starting a car’s internal combustion engine:

  • remote start (warming up the car before driving);
  • automatic start (periodic starting of the car engine at certain time intervals to maintain the temperature at a given value).

Remote autostart Starline

Before considering how to enable autorun on Starline, you need to pay attention to some features. To correctly configure autorun from the key fob, you must perform the following steps:

  • move the gearbox lever to the “neutral” position (all gears are disabled);
  • turn the key in the ignition and remove it from the lock (the car engine is turned off);
  • close the doors, trunk lid and hood of the car tightly;
  • turn on the parking brake (handbrake).

Fulfilling all these conditions allows you to start the car’s internal combustion engine remotely. Now let's move on to how to enable autostart on the Starline alarm system. First of all, to set the car in security mode with the “Starline autostart” function enabled, you must perform the following algorithm of actions:

  • stop the car moving without turning off the ignition (the car engine is running);
  • move the gear shift lever to the “neutral” position (gears are off);
  • put the car on the handbrake (parking brake on);
  • Press button “1” on the key fob and hold it for 3 seconds until a melodic sound signal appears;
  • turn the key in the ignition switch and remove it from the lock (the car engine does not stall);
  • when leaving the car, make sure that the doors, luggage compartment and hood are closed tightly;
  • if everything is done correctly, the alarm will turn off the engine and lock the car doors (security mode is on).

So, remote autostart on Starline is available with proper preparation of the car. Following the entire algorithm described above, the car can be started from the key fob in different ways:

  • the first method is to press button “1” and hold it for 3 seconds until a sound signal appears and quickly press button “3”;
  • the second method is to select the “START” icon and press button “2” (relevant for periodically warming up the engine in the winter).

Due to the actions taken with the key fob:

  • the alarm makes the first attempt to start the car engine;
  • if the car engine does not start on the first try, the alarm makes a second, third or fourth attempt (the starter operating time increases by 0.2 seconds each time);
  • if the car engine does not start after the fourth attempt, the key fob will sound four beeps;
  • if the engine starts, the “exhaust gases” icon will be displayed on the key fob display (this icon may differ on different Starline models) and the car’s dimensions will blink three times, accompanied by a siren signal;
  • warming up of the vehicle's internal combustion engine will be carried out in accordance with the time interval preset in the settings (5, 10, 15 minutes, etc.);
  • one minute before the end of the specified time period, the “r01” icon will appear on the key fob display. If the time is up, the alarm turns off the engine and the “exhaust gases” icon on the key fob display changes to the “r00” icon.

Autostart Starline by temperature

In the winter season, many motorists need to warm up their car at night. When setting up autostart based on temperature, it is necessary to take into account some points: the presence of a temperature sensor, the location of the sensor, etc.

The sequence of actions for turning on and off automatic start by temperature:

  • Having selected the icon with a thermometer and the inscription “START”, press button “2” on the key fob (after a sound signal, the value of the set temperature threshold is displayed on the display);
  • When you turn off autostart based on temperature, you need to select the thermometer icon on the display and press the “2” button on the key fob.

Once inside the car, you must turn on the ignition within 30 seconds, insert the key into the lock and turn it. To completely exit the autostart mode, you must release the handbrake, while the vehicle's dimensions will blink once, after which a sound signal will sound.

How to implement autorun

Let's see what is given in the basic instructions attached to the Starline A9 signaling:

Wiring the power connector

The six wires shown above are connected to the ignition switch terminals. For example, the “red” cord is connected to the 30th terminal, at which the voltage “+12” remains all the time. And the 15th terminal, which receives potential when the key is turned, should be connected to the “yellow” wire. The last requirement is always observed, even if installation is performed without autostart.

Power Connector Wiring

Let’s immediately list what all the cables are connected to:

  1. Red – lock terminal 30;
  2. Yellow – terminal 15 (ignition);
  3. Blue – lock terminal, the voltage on which is absent during starter operation, but appears when the key is turned to the ACC mark;
  4. Green – can duplicate the yellow or blue wire, and by default the first option is selected;
  5. Black and white - plug into the gap in the starter cable, connecting the signaling cord to terminal 50;
  6. Black and yellow – starter power supply.

The "Blue Cord" is usually connected to the "15/2" terminal to feed the second ignition line. If it is missing, you can apply current to the accessory circuit. It all depends on the standard scheme - the car alarm itself is compatible with any of them.

When an autostart is performed, the signaling emulates the behavior of a standard lock. But some lines, such as accessory power, do not need to be connected at all. But the starter must receive power in any case:

Wiring the ignition switch terminals

If you know that the owner does not use autostart, connect only one wire - “yellow”. You need a turbo timer - add a “red” cord here. In the second case, all connections must withstand significant current (up to 30 A). In the first option, this requirement is skipped.

Installation of signal circuits

If everything is done as indicated above, it will be impossible to start the engine by autostart. The car alarm itself must “know” whether the car is in the parking lot, and it is also desirable that the engine operation be controlled. By connecting only the brake limit switch, you can observe the following: the sound of the starter appears, and then the engine starts and stalls. The point is that you still need to install a crawler. The three wires shown here are in the main connector:

  1. Black-red (3) – lineman control;
  2. Orange-violet (16) – monitoring the condition of the brake pedal or handbrake;
  3. Gray-black (6) – engine operation control input: the cord is connected to the tachometer or to the terminal on which the “+” potential appears during startup.

Note that the third cord does not need to be connected to anything, and then you don't even need to do any programming.

In the latter version, the car alarm “monitors” the network voltage, using it to control the operation of the motor. But the instructions say that this method is the most unreliable. It’s better not to use control at all during operation, assigning option 6 the value 3.

Unlike most car alarms, the Starline Twage A9 system only recognizes the presence of ground potential, if we talk about the brake control input. So, it’s better to add a diode to the basic circuit:

Connecting control wires

The resistor dampens the excess voltage, and the capacitor makes the signal symmetrical. The standard instructions do not cover these details.

Connect the gray-black sheathed cord to either the generator terminal or the tachometer. By default, the settings are set to the second option – “tachometer”.

Of course, the Starline A9 system can control the crawler. The lineman relay coil is connected as follows:

  1. Black-red cord – minus power supply to the winding;
  2. Terminal 15 – “positive” supply voltage.

This option, as the only correct one, is indicated in the basic instructions. Let's say the engine stalls immediately after starting. Then try connecting the winding not to the 15th terminal, but to the 30th. The essence of the last sentence is clear: the alarm may turn on the ignition later than necessary. The immobilizer will then not recognize the presence of the key.

Trial run

If the alarm installation is completed, test run the engine. Make sure that:

  1. The gearbox selection loop is cut if the system was installed on a car with a manual transmission;
  2. The connection of the brake sensor for cars with a manual transmission is made according to the diagram - the wire is connected to the handbrake button;
  3. Even for cars with “mechanics”, preparation is carried out, which is then carried out during operation.

The test looks simple: take the main key fob and press key 1. The duration of the press is 3 seconds.

Main remote display

The sound of a working starter will appear, but that’s not the main thing! The key fob should display the “smoke” icon.

You can turn the motor off or on using the same key. Note that after stopping the engine, the pictogram should disappear. If the condition is not met, you cannot use autorun. By the way, the system may not work correctly if “training” has not been carried out. What is true for one option is control by a tachometer.

Let's look at what the preparation procedure looks like:

  1. Engage the handbrake without turning off the ignition;
  2. The key is removed (the engine is running);
  3. In 30 seconds they leave the salon and close the doors;
  4. The engine will stop when half a minute has passed after step 2.

Let one of the conditions be met: the sound of the running motor changes or the engine stalls before step 3. The situation can be corrected this way: when programming function 15, assign the value 2 or 4. Then another action will be added between steps 1-2. Having taken the key fob, you will need to press button 1 without releasing it until a melodic signal sounds.

Designations of remote control keys

Please note that any of the additional key fobs is not suitable in this case.

Each key fob that does not have a display is equipped with one key that allows remote start. The button is designated number 2, and you need to press it for half a second.

How to setup

It is possible to start the power unit of a car equipped with a Starline A91 alarm system with auto start using the following items:

  • Command signal from the control key fob;
  • By time periods;

Connecting a temperature sensor - errors

If we talk about the Starline A9 alarm, it controls the temperature like this:

  1. If an external sensor is connected, it monitors the engine temperature, and the key fob displays the interior temperature;
  2. Without connecting the sensor, be aware that the car alarm measures the temperature inside its housing.

It seems that the option using an external sensor is the most suitable. The connection, in turn, is carried out in parallel with the microbutton contacts:

Basic sensor installation diagram

The button closes when the hood is opened.

The following is true for Starline Twage A9 systems, and in general for any car alarms that are installed additionally. The sensor itself, that is, the resistor, is connected to a standard microbutton. But during operation there is an effect:

  1. When the hood is open, the contacts are closed - everything is correct here;
  2. By closing the hood, you can get a “positive” potential at the signal terminal, which is unacceptable.

The latter is due to the fact that in the standard circuit the microbutton is connected to a lamp, which, in turn, always receives power. The lamp filament has low resistance, and “12 Volts” remains at the signal input. Well, or “almost 12”.

There are two solutions to the problem discussed above. If the light under the hood is not used during operation, cut the cord that goes to the lamp:

Modified connection diagram

But interfering with standard wiring is wrong. It is better to install an additional micro button. In addition, it is always present in Starline A9 kits.

Obviously, something must be done according to the instructions. But at the same time, the features characteristic of each car are also taken into account. This rule is used when installing any alarm system. We wish you success.

Description of the StarLine key fob

The delivery package for Starline car alarms includes two remote controls, one main with feedback and a screen, the second without a display. The main key fob allows you to set any values of the parameters and functions of the “signaling” programmed by the developer. The functionality of the spare communicator is lower due to the lack of a warning system and an LCD screen. Setting up all anti-theft functions using Starline remotes is done the same way, regardless of whether it is a spare device or an additional one.

Identification of buttons

Correspondence of control components on the main and auxiliary Starline key fobs:

Button elements on Starline communicators

Purpose of the keys of the car security system using the example of the A93 model:

Control numberPress typeOptions
1SingleActivation of the vehicle's security function with sound, as well as closing the door locks when the ignition system is turned on
1Sequential (first is long, second is short)Setting security in silent mode
1DoubleActivating or disabling the shock control by levels
2Single

The key is used to control:

  • turning off the protective function;
  • opening the door locks when the ignition is turned on;
  • deactivation of alarm signals when the siren is turned on.

Allows you to enable cursor selection of options included in the functionality:

  • “Anti-robbery” mode;
  • two-stage disabling of the power unit lock;
  • silent vehicle protection;
  • anti-theft system servicing;
  • “Turbo timer” (for cars with diesel engines);
  • automatic activation of security mode;
  • immobilizer

Adding locks

Here is the basic diagram again, taken from the instructions:

Installing a blocking relay

Here, as you can see, one pair of contacts is used - normally closed (NC). Interestingly, another option (HP) will be set in the processor memory. When setting up, assign function 15 the value 3. And the circuit will start working.

Two wires from the power connector are connected to the starter circuit break, as indicated in the first chapter. Thus, another blocking is implemented: the alarm does not close the contacts when the security is activated. The bad thing is that blocking the starter is almost useless. Motor stolen.

Each car alarm can also monitor normally open contacts. But it is better not to connect the Starline Twage A9 system, as well as other Starline alarms, to such relays. It's just that it's not always possible to start the engine. Moreover, we are talking about starting “from the key”.

What and how to program

For the system considered here, a simple settings table is suitable:

Programmatic parameters

The number of options specific to the Starline Twage A9 model is 16. Seven of them, as we see, are connected by autostart. To complete the setup, you will need any of the key fobs. Values 3 and 4 are set as follows: press key 1 or 2 and hold for three seconds. This is true if the main fob is used.

The additional alarm panel is equipped with four separate keys. They, of course, correspond to the values from "1" to "4". Be aware of this.

Here is a commentary on paragraph 15. Let’s say three conditions are met:

  1. The alarm was installed on a car with a manual transmission;
  2. Everything is connected according to the instructions;
  3. When you remove the key from the lock, the sound of the engine running changes.

If all statements are true, use the SAFE setting. In any other case, leave the AUTO option. As you can see, everything is simple.

The above advice is important in two cases: if autostart is implemented or if a turbo timer is needed. We are talking about a timer built into the alarm. By the way, the latter still needs to be enabled (option 16).

By activating the SAFE item, the owner will have to press the key fob button - otherwise the ignition support will not turn on. Here we were talking about the procedure performed during operation.

First - the handbrake, then the button

The important things have been considered, but only one list remains:

  1. After turning on the ignition, press the Valet button 6 times;
  2. The ignition is turned off - the sound of a siren and 6 flashes of the indicator will follow;
  3. The Valet button is pressed once, a short siren sound follows, the button is pressed again, etc.;
  4. By selecting the option number in step 3, set a new value, for which any of the key fobs is used;
  5. The car alarm can return to “normal mode”: just turn on the ignition or wait 10 seconds.

This is exactly how the Starline Twage A9 system needs to be programmed.

Recording key fob codes

The maximum number of key fobs that can be used to record into the car alarm memory is four. This must be done with the security mode turned off. The plan is as follows.

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Next, find the Valet service button. Now you need to press and hold it until the siren appears. Only 4 signals.
  3. In order to record the main key fob with a screen, you need to simultaneously press buttons 1 and 2. Additional key fobs without screens are recorded by pressing buttons 3 and 4. This action is done with all additional key fobs. The main thing is to maintain an interval of no more than 5 seconds.
  4. When finished, turn off the ignition. It will be accompanied by 5 size flashes.

Important! When you need to record new key fobs, overwrite the old ones as well, otherwise they will be deleted from the system.

“Training” and the meaning of its use

Let each of the conditions be met:

  1. The engine is controlled by a tachometer;
  2. The sound of the starter operating during automatic starting stops later than the engine starts.

Tachometer signal

These difficulties, in theory, are typical for any car alarm, and not just for Starline brand systems. So, be patient.

Below is a sequence that is not in the basic instructions:

  1. The ignition is turned on, the Valet button is pressed 9 times;
  2. Turn off the ignition - the indicator lights up constantly;
  3. Start the engine “with the key”;
  4. When the idle speed is established, press the Valet button once - 1 siren sound will follow;
  5. The indicator should go out - training is complete!

When the alarm is trained correctly, it controls the motor without errors. By the way, connecting to a tachometer is recommended. That is, there is no point in “simplifying the problem” by switching to generator control.

Setting up the Starline A91 alarm system for automatic start by time

The security system has the function of setting up remote start by time. This function allows you to start the engine at a specified hour, as well as warm it up before the owner arrives. If the first start attempt fails, then the next time the starter operating time increases by 0.2 seconds. After four unsuccessful attempts, a corresponding notification is sent to the key fob.

How to set autorun time

In order for the function to work correctly, you must set the correct time on the key fob. Afterwards, you need to enter the programming mode by pressing the Valet service button six times in the cabin (with the ignition off). After turning the key to the On position, the car will emit 6 beeps.

Now click the service button three more times, switching to the appropriate programming mode. The machine responds to each press with a sound signal. After this, within ten seconds you need to press the desired button on the key fob (the first key is every two hours, the second – three hours, the third – four hours). The procedure will be confirmed independently.

Enabling autostart on the Starline A91 alarm system by time

In cold climates, the option of periodic autostart according to time is extremely useful. And the Starline A91 system has this function. To turn it on, you need to press the third button for a long time until the second melodic signal. After this, the left icon on the panel will blink. Another press of button three moves the cursor to the fan icon, and a short press of the first key confirms the selection.

Disabling autorun by time

If necessary, you can refuse this function. Disabling occurs as follows:

  • Press button 3 for a long time (until the second signal);
  • the cursor moves to the fan icon;
  • The function is deactivated by briefly pressing the second button. To confirm this, the car will blink its headlights three times and beep.

Starting the engine on an alarm clock

You can configure the engine to start automatically using an alarm clock. To do this, you will first need to configure these parameters on the key fob itself. Press button 3 until a small melodic signal is played. After this, the clock parameter on the remote control should blink. Two more short presses allow you to configure the alarm clock settings. The required values are set by clicking on keys 1 and 2.

To activate the autostart function, you must successively press the third and first keys (after which the clock icon will flash, a melodious sound will sound, and the car will react with a flash of parking signals). Using buttons 1 or 2 you can set the required parameter. Then the third button is pressed again, and then key one (confirmation of alarm activation). Another long press of the third button allows you to activate the autostart mode on the alarm clock.

Changing the warm-up time on Starline A91

Depending on the selected settings, the car can warm up for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. This parameter is programmed after entering the service mode:

  • turn off the ignition and press the Valet service button in the cabin six times;
  • turn on the ignition, listen to six sound signals from the car;
  • The Valet key is clicked two more times;
  • the next click of the key fob buttons determines the warm-up time (the first key is 10 minutes, the second is 20, the third is 30). The command confirmation is accepted automatically; you just don’t need to press anything.

How to increase startup time from autostart on Starline A91

It happens that the car does not start in cold conditions if the starter operates for about a second (Starline A91 factory settings). In this case, you can extend its operating time. The instructions are as follows:

  • with the ignition off, you must press the Valet service button six times to enter the programming mode;
  • after turning the key (On), the car's lights will blink six times. Then you need to press the Valet key nine more times;
  • pressing any button on the key fob determines the starter rotation speed (first – 0.8 seconds, second – 1.4 seconds, third – 2.0 seconds). Long plus short click of the first button – 3.6 seconds.

To prevent the starter from turning when the engine is running, you need to connect the gray and red wire to the tachometer panel for automatic stop.

Using the key fob functions

Let's look at a simple operation: how to turn off the sound in the remote control itself. Press and hold keys 1-3. The display will show the MUTE symbol and a vibration signal will follow.

Standard speaker inside the remote control

You can return everything to the way it was by pressing it again.

Now let's turn on the security without the sound coming from the siren. The cursor method is used here: press button 3 twice, and then, pressing the same button, move the cursor over the icons. Having moved to the desired mark, press key 2. This is how the Starline A9 system is controlled.

It is known that not every car alarm is equipped with a built-in timer. This means that the main key fob should be kept near the antennas. But this requirement does not apply to the system considered here. And yet, despite all the “advantages”, we warn the reader about the following: the Starline Twage A9 signaling does not use a dialogue code. Reliability and ease of setup are two important qualities that characterize the Twage family. If you need resistance to hacking, go to the Dialog family.

How to register a new key fob

Starline car alarms are multifunctional microprocessor devices for remote control of the lock, security system and other vehicle equipment. Modern models look like a small keychain that fits easily in the driver’s hand, has controls and a liquid crystal monitor with a white background, designed to display the status of various subsystems of the car and inform the owner about the results of his manipulations with the device. Next, we will inform you about how to work with the sound of the device, that is, we will tell you how to turn it on and off.

How to turn on the siren using a key fob

ATTENTION! A completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption has been found! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also didn’t believe it until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline! Read more"

The first of the buttons on the edge of the key fob is used to turn on the audible security alarm. Before pressing it, you must make sure that the ignition is turned off and the hood, doors and trunk are closed. If you do not do this, you will not be able to turn on the siren. Instead of a normal reaction, the car will give out four light signals and four sound signals simultaneously. Having fulfilled the above requirements, you can safely press the first button (the one closest to the device’s antenna) - the result will be a single signal of dimensions and one sound. The door locks connected to the alarm will lock and access to the interior will be closed until the next command from the key fob. This is not all that will happen if you turn on the sound on the Starline alarm. You can make sure that everything is in order by looking at the LED alarm light - if it blinks, then everything is OK. The picture below shows the key fob itself and the sound button.

Also keep in mind that if you turn on the sound on the key fob, icons of all your actions will be displayed on the device screen.

How to set up a program to control Starline A93?

Below are the control buttons, which are configured through the menu - if you do not have auto start, then in place of this icon, move the trunk release. The default icons are:

  1. “Engine”—remote engine start and stop. On cars with a manual transmission, to use autostart, a program neutral procedure is performed before arming.
  2. “Lock” - arming and disarming the vehicle.
  3. “Horn” - search for a car in a parking lot, the car will give a light and sound signal.

Below are the informers: the account status of the SIM card installed in the device, battery voltage, interior temperature and engine temperature. In terms of ease of use, the mobile application is much more convenient than the alarm key fob.

The purpose of the control buttons can easily be changed in the settings - drag the desired icon to the desired location with your finger.

To determine the coordinates of your car, scroll the screen to the “Map” tab. The map controls are intuitive - we change the scale, move along the map to our location and to the location of the car. Using the tab, we track the movements of the machine in real time.

Despite all the convenience, the mobile application also has a serious drawback - delays in processing commands, even if you are standing at the car. The fact is that both the application and the alarm use the Internet channel of cellular operators: the application generates a command that passes from the cellular network to the operator’s Internet channel, from there to the StarLine servers, registering in the server logs, and then transmitted by the server to the Internet channel the operator to which the SIM card is registered in the alarm. Depending on the quality of communication of both (!) channels, the processing speed of the channel can vary greatly.

Therefore, in reality, the application is more convenient to use for autostart, if the radio key fob cannot “finish off” to the parking lot, to track the car and view the log of actions with it. Having detected theft, you can remotely give a command to turn off the engine. In everyday use, it is more comfortable to use the phone together with StarLine alarms that support the Bluetooth protocol - in this case, the phone automatically works like a keyless entry card into a car, without loading the Internet channel.
