If you examine the standard sound insulation on the floor of a VAZ 2107, you will find a bitumen-based vibration damper no more than 3 millimeters thick, and a standard noise insulation of 7-10 millimeters. Moreover, more often than not, they were not laid very well, which affected the comfort of the driver and passengers.

A material that looks similar to vibration insulation is used as a soundproofing layer necessary to reflect sound. But its properties are different. “Spleen” can be used as well-known brands. In addition to sound insulation, this material has high thermal insulation qualities.

Modern “Shumkas” are very convenient with their adhesive layer. Thanks to him, installation of coatings occurs quickly and efficiently. Many materials for sound insulation are used universally - both for cars and for the walls of a residential building.

Preparatory work

First you need to decide on the procedure for soundproofing parts of the car (trunk, interior, hood, etc.). This is followed by:

  • purchase the necessary materials (they can be purchased in sets for each part of the machine or per meter, having previously calculated the required quantity);
  • prepare a set of tools;
  • make cardboard patterns (if the materials are purchased by the meter and not in ready-made kits);
  • disassemble the insulated area down to the metal, removing the trim elements, dashboard, and other parts that impede work;
  • wash the surface thoroughly and dry;
  • clean and treat areas of corrosion;
  • degrease with solvent.

Sound insulation of the trunk and hood of the VAZ 2107

The opinion that sound insulation of the engine compartment is necessary only for the comfort of others is false. It performs several important functions:

  • reduces metal vibration;
  • muffles the engine sound penetrating into the cabin;
  • improves thermal insulation and prevents the engine from cooling quickly in winter.

Soundproofing the trunk is important for the following reasons:

The hood and trunk lids are insulated in the same way, with the difference that the “vibroplast” is not laid over the entire area, but only between the stiffening ribs.

The wheel arches in the trunk require additional sound insulation. For this, an additional layer of sound insulation is used.

Sound insulation of VAZ 2107 doors

The vibration and noise insulation coating on the doors improves the sound of the built-in speakers, eliminating resonance, and prevents street noise from penetrating into the car. The isolation procedure is as follows:

  • stick “vibroplast” onto the door panels;
  • stick the second layer “Accent”;
  • wrap the rods with “Madeline” to eliminate squeaks;
  • cover the outer layer of the doors with “vibroplast”;
  • seal the technological holes with “bitoplast” or foil;
  • glue the door trim on the inside with “Accent” to improve sound absorption and fit of the part.

Soundproofing of the VAZ 2107 interior

Before soundproofing the interior, you should make sure that components and assemblies that can create additional noise are in good working order. Sound insulation of the VAZ 2107 interior is carried out so that vibration and sound insulation materials do not cover the mounting holes.

Soundproofing the trunk of a VAZ-2107 is a fairly simple procedure. It's probably easier to just process the hood. But there is plenty of work here too. There are few smooth surfaces here, like on the roof, so you still have to try.

Sound insulation of the bottom of the VAZ 2107

External underbody sound insulation reduces tire noise and rock clatter while driving. For this purpose, you should use liquid sound insulation, which is applied with a spray bottle. After drying, it is foamed rubber and performs anti-corrosion and soundproofing functions.

Thanks to the spray application, such sound insulation can be easily and quickly applied in hard-to-reach places. Its weight is significantly lower than that of sheet material, vibration and sound insulation properties are no worse, and the price is only slightly higher.

After applying the soundproofing coating, it is necessary to carefully assemble the parts. Loose tightening of threaded connections, broken clips and other assembly defects can neutralize all efforts to reduce the noise of the “seven”.
